After a 24-hour suspension on Twitch due to speeding, well-known streamer ExtraEmily decided to make amends by enrolling in driving lessons with an instructor specifically from OTK, demonstrating her commitment to improving her actions.
On April 12, 2025, Emily broadcasted herself running a red light at an intersection, causing uproar from viewers due to her dangerous handling of the vehicle.
On the following day, Emily’s channel was prohibited, signifying her second punishment from the platform, following her initial ban in 2023 due to using her mobile device while driving.
ExtraEmily apologizes for running red light after Twitch ban
On a live stream on April 15th, Emily made her comeback to Twitch. During this session, she expressed apologies to her audience, shared that she was learning to drive with an instructor named Jacob Gregory, who is a producer at the streaming company OTK, as part of the broadcast.
She admitted, “I’d like to express my apologies for my careless driving, including ignoring the red light. It was indeed a regrettable action of mine. However, hindsight is always 20/20. I must simply accept it, learn from it, and strive to improve.
Reflecting on the recent incident, I acknowledge my oversight and pledge to exercise greater caution moving forward. It’s clear that I must learn from this experience and strive for improvement to prevent a recurrence. After all, we humans are prone to errors, but it’s mind-boggling to think that a simple stop at the red light could have potentially avoided the whole ordeal.
After a brief break due to an error on my part, Emily is back on Twitch. She’s now streaming driving school content.

As I rolled into an abandoned parking lot, I linked up with Jacob Gregory, the mastermind behind OTK productions. He set me up with a series of challenges to gauge my driving abilities.
Initially, he had her perform an eye test akin to those given at an optometrist’s, assessing her ability to decipher road signs while driving. At ten feet distance, she successfully identified a row of small letters, indicating her visual acuity as 20/25.
Next, Jacob guided her through the standard driving test procedures, which involved maneuvers like parking, as well as testing her fundamental understanding of traffic regulations.
In summary, Jacob concluded that she had successfully completed his test, though he jokingly stated that he wasn’t actually a professional driving instructor.
Despite jokingly making light of her suspension and the ensuing commotion, Emily vowed to viewers that she would work on enhancing her driving abilities to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future.
On Twitch, Emily’s ban has drawn criticism for perceived leniency, with some believing her suspension ought to have been extended. Moreover, the platform itself removed a tweet they posted on April 14, praising Emily during her suspension, following audience feedback about the inopportune timing of the celebration.
On Twitch’s end, they have revised their approach to suspensions. Now, streamers who have been permanently banned can make an appeal six months later. Additionally, there is greater transparency regarding the reasons behind initial bans for broadcasters.
