Titled “Rebuilding,” a dramatic story about a cowboy, portrayed by Josh O’Connor, who loses his ranch due to wildfires, has been acquired for U.S. distribution by Bleecker Street. This film made its debut at Sundance and is set to hit theaters later in 2023.
In a different take, Max Walker-Silverman helms the film titled “Rebuilding.” This movie chronicles the journey of Dusty, a rancher who finds himself in a FEMA camp and, surprisingly, rekindles relationships with his long-lost daughter and ex-spouse during the process of rebuilding their lives along with other survivors. The talented cast includes Lily Latorre from “Run Rabbit Run,” Meghann Fahy from “The White Lotus,” Kali Reis from “True Detective,” and Amy Madigan from “Field of Dreams.
EbMaster’s main movie reviewer, Owen Gleiberman, highly commended the acting skills of 34-year-old British actor Tom O’Connor, most recognized for his work on “The Crown” and “Challengers.” In his critique, Gleiberman stated that O’Connor embodies an authentic aura, with a rugged and silent charm that conveys the deep sorrow within Dusty, a character who has suffered immense loss.

EbMaster’s lead film critic, Owen Gleiberman, lauded the performance of Tom O’Connor, a 34-year-old British actor known for “The Crown” and “Challengers.” In his assessment, Gleiberman noted that O’Connor delivers an authentic portrayal, exuding a rough yet silent charisma that expresses the profound sadness of Dusty, a character who has experienced great loss.
This represents the second project that Bleecker Street has worked on together with Walker-Silverman, who first took on the role of a director in the 2022 film “A Love Song,” which likewise had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
