In an upcoming update, Minecraft is set to introduce a feature that allows players to tether mobs (creatures) to one another or objects, thereby expanding the ways in which players can interact with and experience the pixelated environment of the game.
In a blog post on Minecraft’s official site, it is stated that leading a single mob with a leash has been possible for some time. However, upcoming modifications to this feature will significantly broaden the possibilities, enabling players to link mobs together and affix them to a more diverse range of items.
As a gamer, I stumbled upon a blog that shares creative ideas on utilizing horse leashes and even applying them to friendly Happy Ghasts, transforming them into hot air balloons! While the concept of tying objects isn’t entirely novel, the updates to how these leashes function are certainly fresh. Now, it’s simpler than ever to attach and detach leashes from knots, making gameplay more seamless. Plus, if I need to free a specific mob from a group that’s been leashed together, all I have to do is use my trusty shears! Just remember, fellow gamers, we can’t leash one another or meddle with each other’s leashes using those shears. Happy gaming!
As a gamer diving into Minecraft: Java Edition, I’ve got exciting news! The latest leashing functionality is now open for testing. For my fellow gamers on Xbox, Windows, Android, and iOS using Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, this feature will be coming to realms soon. However, the release date for when it’ll roll out to everyone hasn’t been disclosed yet, as shared by our awesome developers at Mojang. Keep an eye out for updates!
To try out this new feature, Minecraft: Java Edition users must activate snapshots and install it using the Minecraft launcher. For Minecraft: Bedrock Edition testers, you’ll need to opt into the preview/beta program and download the designated test versions. Mojang advises that testing these versions might affect your game world, so make sure to backup your current world or run them in a separate save folder from your main one.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel a thrill as Mojang keeps rolling out fresh content for Minecraft. The excitement doesn’t stop there, as the Minecraft Movie has been shattering box office records and currently ranks second among the highest-grossing video game films ever, surpassed only by The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Though no official announcement has been made yet, it seems like a sequel to the Minecraft Movie might be on the horizon, with a Warner Bros. exec hinting that preparations for a follow-up are about to kick off.
