Judith Light and Mireille Dumas to Chair Juries of the 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival

At the upcoming 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, which is set for June 13 to 17 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, Actress Judith Light, a multiple Emmy and Tony award winner, will lead the jury for fiction categories, while French journalist, director, and producer Mireille Dumas will preside over the jury for news and documentaries.

I’ve had my fair share of fame, starting with my two-time Daytime Emmy Award-winning role as Karen Wolek on the soap opera “One Life to Live.” But it was my international breakthrough as Angela Bower in the sitcom “Who’s the Boss?”, which ran from 1984 to 1992, that truly put me on the map. Over the years, I’ve graced various television series such as “Ugly Betty,” “Transparent,” and “The Politician.” Recently, you might have seen me in “Julia” and “Shining Vale.” Last year, I was honored with a Primetime Emmy for my guest role in Rian Johnson’s Peacock series “Poker Face.

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that my upcoming ventures span across various platforms. You can catch me in the Apple TV+ series “Before,” sharing the screen with the legendary Billy Crystal. Additionally, I have a role in Searchlight’s film “The Menu.” For Disney+ viewers, don’t miss “Out of My Mind.” Moving forward, I’ll be featured in “The Terror: Devil in Silver” for AMC and Scott Free Productions. And to top it all off, I recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – an incredible honor indeed!

Dumas is known for producing and presenting revolutionary shows in France like “Bas les masques” and “Vie privée, vie publique.” She’s widely recognized as a trailblazer in documentary filmmaking and investigative journalism, often highlighting genuine and emotionally compelling stories. Her keen intellect and profound compassion for human fates make her an excellent choice to preside over the jury, honoring the best documentaries and news programs in competition.

Cécile Menoni, our festival’s executive director, expressed her delight in announcing two outstanding personalities as this year’s jury presidents. Their skills, passion, and distinctive insights into audiovisual production are sure to elevate this year’s festival. They symbolize the quality and creativity that define our industry, and we eagerly anticipate recognizing the finest works of international television alongside them,” said Cécile Menoni.
