Best look yet at Overwatch 2 Hero 45 spotted in Stadium

During the latest playtest for Stadium mode in Overwatch 2, we got a closer peek at Hero 45, offering fans a clearer picture of their appearance and gameplay style.

Overwatch 2 has unveiled its next two characters set to join the game, with Freja joining in Season 16 and Aqua entering the fray in Season 18. This brings the total number of heroes up to a staggering 44, yet the developers continue to hint at Hero 45.

Players have frequently expressed their desire for additional characters focused on melee combat, particularly those wielding massive swords. The idea of such a character is one that game director Aaron Keller has even hinted at, suggesting that it’s an idea they’ve considered within the team.

Just got off playing the freshly-launched Stadium mode for our game, and I’ve gotta say, it looks like we’re getting a peek at the coolest design yet for our upcoming hero!

OW2 Hero 45 spotted on Stadium map

On the fresh Arena Victoriae Stadium map, there’s a poster on the wall showcasing a figure in silhouette, clad in armor and brandishing a sizable sword. Notably, this same sword is also prominently displayed elsewhere on the map, suggesting strongly that it belongs to a close-combat hero.

Between the two screens, you’ll find the numbers XXXV (which stands for 35 in Roman numerals). This suggests strongly that it’s this character who is most likely to be added to the roster following Aqua.

Peek into the details of Hero 45, the latest hero hinted in Arena Victoriae for Overwatch 2! The teaser showcases the Roman numerals XLV (which is Hero 45), and offers a glimpse of her silhouette as well as her in-game sword model.

Though their detailed design remains unseen, and an official title is yet to be announced, the text beneath the numbers provides a glimpse of information. Translated from Italian as “She Wolf,” the term “Lu Lupa” could be a temporary or internal codename, potentially suggesting its final name, and even offering hints about the appearance of their armor.

As a seasoned gamer, I can’t say much about Hero 45, but considering that Freja and Aqua are Damage and Support characters respectively, it’s generally assumed that Hero 45 might take on the role of a Tank in our game.

In Overwatch 2, new characters will be introduced every two seasons. Therefore, Hero 45 won’t make a full appearance until Season 20. However, enthusiasts can anticipate intriguing clues and sneak peeks in the forthcoming period.
