Twitch took down a sponsored content featuring streamer ExtraEmily, following their recent decision to lift her ban, which she received for running a red light while live-streaming only a short time ago.
On April 14th, a post (which has since been removed) displaying an attempt to recreate her in a Sims-like game within ZOI, was posted to Twitch’s X account. However, this post received ridicule and criticism due to its timing, as it emerged just after a 24-hour suspension for inappropriate on-stream conduct ended.
EmilyExtra, well-known for her lively content offline and association with OTK, was temporarily banned on April 13 following an incident where she drove through a red light while live streaming. The streaming platform Twitch, which strictly prohibits such activities, especially driving during streams, imposed a 24-hour suspension due to this breach of rules regarding dangerous behavior.
Twitch seemed to advocate for ExtraEmily on their Twitter shortly after lifting her ban related to distracted driving, but later took down the post, likely because of criticism in the responses.

In response to the post, Streamer Nmplol made a sarcastic comment saying, “This was fantastic! I adore Twitch!” (Implying that it wasn’t actually awesome and he doesn’t really like Twitch.)
Another responded, “yes, let’s create the streamer that regularly endangers people’s lives.”
Though Twitch remained silent about the ban, in line with their usual practice, the platform’s subsequent efforts to highlight her drew fresh criticism. Many users found this action insensitive, considering the reasons behind her suspension.
Although ExtraEmily has been reinstated, she hasn’t streamed since Friday, April 11th. However, she informed her followers on Discord that she plans to return shortly.
Previously, in the year 2023, she had been prohibited due to texting while driving. This restriction held for a duration of 18 hours. Upon her resumption of streaming, she declared herself “changed” or “transformed”.
I fully grasp the reason for my ban, as I was using my phone whilst driving. This ban has served as a valuable lesson, and I am determined to grow from it by ensuring I never look at my phone while streaming again. To prevent any future incidents, all I need to do is turn off my phone screen; I don’t necessarily have to keep the phone in my hand.
In 2024, her channel saw a substantial increase, typically hosting more than 12,000 simultaneous viewers for much of the year.
