Anthony Mackie believes that “Avengers: Doomsday” reminds him of the glory days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As a passionate cinephile, I recently got a sneak peek into the mind of Anthony Mackie, who brought Sam Wilson to life in “Captain America: Brave New World” earlier this year. Intriguingly, Mackie hinted that the Russo Brothers’ latest blockbuster harks back to the original essence of the Marvel franchise.
Mackie stated that they have plans to step outside this week, and they’re looking forward to carrying out those plans. Everyone is buzzing with anticipation. With the script and the Russo brothers returning, I think it’s going to be fantastic.
He went on saying, “I’m genuinely thrilled about this venture. I believe it will evoke in the viewers the classic Marvel sensation they’ve always appreciated.
The movie titled ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ set to release on May 1, 2026, boasts a stellar lineup of Marvel characters from days gone by. Among the confirmed actors are Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres (who’s taking over as Falcon), Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. Robert Downey Jr., a previous leading figure in Marvel, will make a comeback for ‘Doomsday.’ Instead of portraying Tony Stark, he will assume the role of Victor Von Doom, the movie’s antagonist.
In addition to “Doomsday,” several actors from the X-Men movie franchise are part of the cast. These include Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer portraying Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. Joining them is Channing Tatum, who first appeared as Gambit in the 2024 release “Deadpool & Wolverine.
Prior to the premiere of “Doomsday” by Marvel Studios, they will first unveil two major films in 2025: “Thunderbolts,” set for release on May 2nd, and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” scheduled for July 25th.
