Duck Dynasty Returns: May 28 Premiere!

The TV network A&E has announced that “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” will debut on Wednesday, May 28th at 9 PM Eastern/Pacific Time. Back in January, the network revealed plans to revive this once incredibly popular show, which caused trouble for A&E in 2014. In a magazine interview with GQ, Phil Robertson, the family patriarch of “Duck Dynasty,” made comments that were seen as homophobic and racist. This resulted in A&E temporarily suspending him, which sparked anger among conservative commentators. Despite this controversy, the show’s viewership dropped, and it ultimately came to an end in 2017.

In the 10-episode revival, Willie and Korie Robertson continue their unique blend of humor and Southern hospitality as they navigate the growth of Duck Commander. They help their children with life events like marriage, parenthood, and starting businesses, all while preserving their family legacy. But Willie soon discovers that the new generation may not be as much like the Robertsons as he initially believed.

I’m thrilled to share that “The Revival” has been greenlit for a two-season run, consisting of 20 episodes! This means there’s even more excitement to look forward to. During its peak in fall 2013, I was among the astounding 14.6 million viewers who tuned into “Duck Dynasty” every week, based on Live+7 ratings.

This upcoming season has been developed by Wheelhouse’s Spoke Studios and Tread Lively Productions, specifically for A&E. A&E retains the exclusive rights to distribute this series globally.

PROGRAMMING

A fresh talk show titled “Greg Gutfeld’s What Else Happened?” is about to premiere on FOX Nation, featuring the charming host, Greg Gutfeld.

The show starts airing within a span of three days, starting from May 12. On this day, the first episode will be released, followed by the remaining episodes on May 13 and 14 respectively.

In this program, there are four individuals who gave up all forms of technology – internet, social media, TV, phones – for three months, specifically from January 20 to April 13, in upstate New York. Their task is to guess the news events that took place during their tech-free period, while performing before a live audience and a panel. The winner takes home $50,000.

CASTING

Actor Simon Helberg, well-known for his role in “The Big Bang Theory,” along with young actress Raegan Revord, famous from “Young Sheldon,” will make a special appearance in the final episode of the third season of “Night Court.

Helberg will appear in a special episode of “The Big Bang Theory” reunion, and based on the official summary, his character could significantly impact Abby (played by Melissa Rauch), the judge on the show. In another development, Record will portray a teenage runaway named Shelby who is determined to marry her soulmate. Notably, Marsha Warfield is returning to reprise her role as Roz from the initial series.

In addition, Helberg will rejoin the cast for “Poker Face” Season 2, starring alongside Natasha Lyonne, and is presently filming “The Audacity,” a project by Jonathan Glatzer on AMC, which also features Billy Magnussen and Zach Galifianakis.

The “Night Court” Season 3 finale is set to air Tuesday, May 6 at 8:30 pm. ET/PT.
