You Probably Haven’t Heard Of Bongo Cat, But Over 100,000 People Are Playing It Right Now

If you fancy observing an adorable cat paw at a taskbar and receive hats as rewards, then Bongo Cat is perfect for you! This free-to-play game has resonated with many individuals, as more than 125,000 people are currently enjoying it (at the time of publication), according to Steam.

The interactive game “Bongo Cat” involves a cat tapping on your computer’s taskbar using its paws as you type or click your mouse. This action earns you points and, over time, treasure chests filled with various hats will appear. Currently, there are 20 unique items tied to an event happening throughout April, which ends on the 22nd. The announcement made on March 31 stated that Bongo Cat has had more than half a million distinct players. Moreover, it was one of the most highly-played demos during Steam Next Fest in February.

According to the SteamDB graph, the number of simultaneous players for Bongo Cat was approximately 40,000 during the latter half of March, and then experienced a surge at the start of this month. Yesterday, it reached a high of 134,411 players, and today it’s been hovering just under that number. While Bongo Cat isn’t quite as widely played as Banana from last year, it seems to satisfy a similar desire. The game has received mostly positive feedback on Steam so far.

Last month, I stumbled upon REPO on Steam and was blown away by its sudden popularity with over 145,000 simultaneous players! This cooperative horror game has been consistently drawing in players and even created a splash on Twitch.
