The Party Film Sales Boards Cannes Critics’ Week Title ‘Nino’ With ‘Lurker’ Star Theodore Pellerin (EXCLUSIVE)

Based in Paris, The Party Film Sales has taken on the representation of “Nino,” the first feature film by director Pauline Loquès. This movie features up-and-coming Canadian actor Théodore Pellerin, known for his role in “Lurker.

Nino, played by Pellerin, is a young guy embarking on a personal odyssey to reconnect with life and himself amidst the bustling streets of Paris, as advised by his doctors. The cryptic summary hints that in just three days, Nino will encounter a significant hurdle.

The movie “Nino” is rounded off by performances from William Lebghil, Salomé Dewaels, and Jeanne Balibar. This production is masterminded by Sandra da Fonseca at Blue Monday Productions, with France 2 Cinéma also contributing as co-producers. The film has already been acquired by Ciné+, OCS, and Disney+. The Party Film Sales will be handling the movie’s distribution in international markets.

Estelle de Araujo and Samuel Blanc, the co-leaders of The Party Film Sales, stated that “Nino” displays remarkable maturity for a debut film, and they refer to it as a deeply sensitive and insightful depiction of a generation.

Pellerin’s performance was “truly captivating, filled with understated elegance.” According to De Araujo and Blanc, the movie explores “the significance of our connections to one another and how they serve as tools for constructing a promising tomorrow.

Previously, he was the director of the short film titled “A Young Girl’s Life.” More recently, Pellerin shared screen time with Archie Madekwe in “Lurker,” a standout at the Sundance Film Festival. He has also graced the screens in “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” and “Beau is Afraid.

Meanwhile, Lebghil is featured in the movie “Kiss in the City,” which is set to premiere during Critics Week, and it’s directed by Martin Jauvat.

Besides the support from CNC’s advance on receipts, Cinémage Sofica, and the Île-de-France region, “Nino” was also receiving backing.
