Dave Chappelle will be the main act at Toronto’s Departure Festival + Conference, where he will deliver an exclusive stand-up routine at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
The six-time Grammy and five-time Emmy award-winning artist, who was also recently honored with the NAACP President’s Award, leads the comedy-oriented growth of the festival, which is being coordinated by Loft Entertainment and Oak View Group.
The comedy showcase additionally highlights emerging Canadian comedians, including Jasmeet Raina, Ivan Decker, Sophie Buddle, Hassan Phills, and Ali Hassan, as well as Kyle Kazanjian-Amory, the creator of viral humor platform Don’t Tell Comedy.

In this lineup, Dave Chappelle takes the lead, having delivered the longest monologue in “Saturday Night Live’s” 50-year run. Other performers joining him include the comedy podcast “How Did This Get Made? Live”, comedian Trevor Wallace, Pete Holmes, Harland Williams, Caroline Rhea, and Elvira Kurt.
The upcoming segment for the festival’s cinematic and broadcast aspect will showcase an exclusive sneak peek of Harland Williams’ fresh comedy “Wingman,” starring Jamie Kennedy and Russell Peters, as well as unveil the global debut of Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” Season 8, courtesy of StackTV, prior to its scheduled broadcast on May 25.
Comedy shows highlighting up-and-coming comedians are set to occur at various Comedy Bar locations across Toronto. These events, titled “Breakout” and “Next Gen,” will specifically spotlight these rising talents.
