Instead of creating an expansive game with many players and a hierarchical viewpoint where you switch characters while passing the ball, ReMatch adopts a distinct strategy. The playing field is significantly reduced, accommodating only five players per team. Each player assumes control over a single character. Unlike traditional games where the ball can be knocked out of bounds, it rebounds off the sides, allowing for strategic ricochet passes. Additionally, there’s no designated goalie position; teammates are free to switch in and out of the goalie box as required.

In the fresh, one-minute teaser, the essence of ReMatch was underscored through its fundamental principles such as “work together” and “goalkeepers act as defenders.” However, the most crucial guideline, without a doubt, is “never surrender,” which becomes evident as the team manages to draw the match level. The characters on the pitch appear to possess charged energy in their limbs or hands based on their respective roles. Furthermore, during gameplay, players communicate with one another using specific calls to indicate when they’re open for a pass or prepared to attempt a shot at goal.

As a thrilled gamer, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I found out that the trailer concluded with an earlier-than-anticipated release date on June 19th! Given the game was only unveiled a few short months ago, this is quite a surprise.
