5 Mind-Bending Mysteries Yellowjackets Season 4 Must Solve

In simpler terms, the tenth episode of Yellowjackets Season 3, titled ‘Full Circle’, definitely felt like coming back to where it all began. Although many lingering puzzles were unraveled in this finale, there are several unanswered questions that need resolution in Season 4.

We might infer that “It” – the essence of the Wilderness – is somehow embedded within the minds of the Yellowjackets, having been triggered by their traumatic experiences and psychological issues (in Shauna’s instance, it seems more a matter of her being a psychopath).

Season 3 appears to have strongly suggested these developments through a series of disclosures. For instance, we learned that the eerie noises are actually frog mating calls, and the recurrence of grown-up Van’s cancer indicates that she didn’t miraculously survive following Nat’s demise.

Still, much remains uncharted regarding the upcoming season of Yellowjackets. It’s not officially announced yet, but there’s a strong possibility for Season 4. As soon as it gets confirmed, here are five burning questions we’re eager to have answered. Proceed with caution, as spoilers lie ahead!

How do they get rescued?

As a dedicated gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating Season 4 because it’s clear from the cliffhanger ending of Season 3 that our characters are still in peril and haven’t been rescued yet. However, we might have some hints as to their fate thanks to the way things wrapped up at the end of the last season.

To remind you, it was Nat who assisted the grown Yellowjackets in their escape, as depicted in the last scene of Season 3. Eventually, she successfully extricated herself from their camp, ascended a mountain peak, and utilized the frog researcher’s phone to reach out to the world beyond.

Following several exchanges, at last, someone responds from the other side. It seems this could be the initial move towards them eventually escaping that situation. Yet, this also triggers a new query: what strategy will they employ to conceal their wrongdoings?

It’s clear that if the authorities discover these individuals, they might conclude that they were driven to eat human flesh due to survival needs. However, there will be a wealth of proof showing that they committed murder unnecessarily, such as the unfortunate researchers who met their end.

From what we currently understand, it seems they haven’t been apprehended as of now. They’ve only faced gossips, with these rumors hinting at cannibalism. It will be intriguing to observe their response when they learn that a rescue team is en route.

What happened to the other Yellowjackets?

Currently, only Shauna, Nat, Misty, Lottie, Travis, Tai, Van, and Melissa seem to have survived the airplane accident. One might wonder about the fate of the others who were on board with them. What became of the rest?

From the ending of Season 3, it’s clear that Mari was the Pit Girl, which implies she has perished. However, Gen, Akilah, Robin, and Britt are all absent from the future timeline as well. Notably, if you recall the funeral scene in Season 1, there were a total of 18 survivors who made it out of the plane crash alive initially.

To put it another way, the calculations seem to have gone awry. So, what became of the rest of the group? Did they fall victim to the harsh wilderness? Could there be other survivors unaccounted for, such as grown-up Melissa?

Additionally, there’s the query concerning Crystal, and if the team will eventually uncover the truth about her fate (following Misty’s cold-hearted actions of pushing her off a cliff).

Concerning the funeral sequence, the authors might have subtly reduced the characters present. However, we can hope that Yellowjackets Season 4 will shed light on some of these unexplained aspects.

Where does the symbol come from?

It’s plausible to infer that events perceived as spiritual may have natural explanations such as a) environmental factors or b) personal psychological conditions. However, an intriguing query persists: what is the origin of the symbol in question?

The primary hypothesis suggests that it serves as a sign. Keep in mind, the girls didn’t claim the cabin as their initial dwelling place. You’ll find a deceased hunter up in the loft (we’ve taken to calling him Cabin Daddy), and an abandoned aircraft nearby.

It’s possible that Cabin Daddy used the symbol to mark nearby trees, serving as a guide or map for his trek across the forest.

It’s unclear how Other Tai managed to locate those symbols during sleepwalking, unless she had already encountered them previously – in which case, her semi-conscious state may have triggered memories of them.

There’s a possibility that the Yellowjackets’ suppressed memories and emotional pain could resurface in alarming manners again, though this is simply an assumption for now, and we can only hope that Season 4 will provide some clarity on this matter.

How did the cabin burn down?

Indeed, it’s an intriguing query, one that left us pondering as well following the conclusion of Season 2. We understand that the girls were compelled to vacate their cabin due to the fire, leading them to continue residing in tents by the end of Season 3 since they had reverted to a wild, primitive lifestyle.

In the opinion of many Yellowjackets, Coach Scott might have been at fault, but the third episode of the horror series suggests otherwise. Interestingly, Coach Scott stated that he wished to keep his distance from everyone involved.

Is it perhaps some sort of mysterious entity? While anything’s theoretically possible, it’s more likely just an unusual incident. In Episode 3 of Season 3, the team stumbles upon a cave saturated with toxic gas, serving as a reminder that nature holds countless factors capable of causing explosions.

The possible connection between the mysterious gas cave could be linked to the unusual natural occurrences we witnessed in Season 1, such as the red river and the malfunctioning compass. These two enigmas, along with the gas cave, remain unexplained mysteries until further evidence is uncovered. For now, all these theories are merely speculative.

Who was Javi and Coach Scott’s cave friend?

One enduring enigma yet unresolved is the true nature of the person Javi befriended during his solitary existence within the cave, the individual who advised him to keep his distance from the other Yellowjackets.

In Season 3, we don’t get any clear-cut solutions – instead, it adds even more puzzles to ponder upon. This is evident when Coach Scott appears to converse with an unseen companion residing within the same cave.

It’s possible that the incidents occurred due to them struggling to maintain a hold on their sense of what is real. This suspicion arises because Coach Scott had a conversation with his partner Paul, where he experienced intense hallucinations as if they were reliving past moments together.

It’s hard to deny, it seems quite unusual that they both shared fictional companions, considering they lived in the very same concealed lair. If Yellowjackets is renewed for a fourth season, we desperately seek explanations.

In the meantime, delve into “The Man Without Eyes,” a story about an individual who attempted to eliminate the Yellowjackets, and explore additional TV series to watch online this month.
