A special mission pairs Ichiban and Dave together to confront Sea Blue and put an end to their current mischief, and here is a walkthrough on how to activate and finish this quest.

How to Unlock Dave the Diver Operation Sea Blue Eradication Quest

In the Ichiban’s Holiday DLC expansion, the Operation Sea Blue Eradication mission serves as the main attraction, however, there are certain conditions you need to meet within the game to access it.

1st, ensure you’ve bought and installed the Ichiban’s Holiday DLC for the primary game. The update patch notes specify that this additional content will only be available for purchase and download until October 9, 2025. So, don’t forget to secure it before that date.

After completing Chapter 5: Melting Glacier, advance Dave the Diver’s main narrative up to that point. In Chapter 6, as darkness falls at Bancho Sushi, you will encounter Ichiban (also known as Kasuga) and the Bartender, who are passing through the area. Following a short chat, they depart from the restaurant, marking the beginning of the DLC’s plot.

The next day, Kasuga plans to meet Dave and Cobra on the water. Shortly after, a distressed dolphin pops up near Kasuga. Quickly following was a boat filled with pirates, aiming at the dolphin. In response, Kasuga leaps onto the boat and swiftly defeats the pirates.

Later on, he goes back to chat with Dave and Cobra, who reveal that these pirates are employed by Sea Blue, a shady organization masquerading as an environmental protection agency. They’ve been bothering Dave for quite a while.

As an eager supporter, Kasuga extends a hand to join forces against them. Cobra graciously provides a timed explosive for a stealthy entrance into their neighboring stronghold. Yet, they firmly request we bide our time until nightfall before making our move. With this decision, the adventure truly commences.

Deal With Pirates & Blast the Entrance

You have two options: First, wait until evening, or attend to any other necessary fishing duties before then. Regardless of your choice, once night falls, Kasuga will be back at the boat, prepared to initiate the operation. In this scenario, Dave is responsible for transporting the bomb, while Kasuga will accompany and safeguard him from potential threats.

At this point, you’ll assume control of Kasuga while escorting Dave underwater.

  • Deal with armed pirates by throwing punches until they’re defeated.
  • Follow the radar compass downward until you encounter a floating minefield.
  • Carefully navigate through it with Dave behind you, and more pirates will appear for you to take care of. You can use mines to make it easier.

Once they have been handled, make your way towards the entrance of Sea Blue’s compound, and Dave will then proceed to place the explosive device to blow it open.

Fight Your Way In

After Dave and Kasuga enter the base, Cobra will join them shortly to lend assistance. You’ll be tasked with overseeing both Kasuga and Cobra for the battles to come. The game interface will show a traditional combat menu, allowing you to pick which character to engage first and providing you with fundamental fight controls.

Starting now, you’ll need to face off against various foes using both Kasuga (also known as Ichiban) and Cobra. You can easily switch between the two characters by pressing the designated button in battle, allowing for better management of damage and defense. Each character will have a total of four lives per stage, and it’s important to be mindful of the time limit.

Punch your way through each wave, which consists of:

  • Pirate grunts
  • Researchers – throw vials of poison.

Defeat Torben

In time, you’ll arrive at a laboratory, where a sinister scientist called Torben is unmasked as conducting experiments on marine life he’s captured. In the initial phase, I’ll be wielding a shotgun, so keep your distance to dodge it as you chip away at my health meter. In the subsequent round, I’ll bring out my experimental arsenal, which includes a shield and a lethal laser beam. Be cautious when I deflect your attacks, and find a way to knock me unconscious to wrap up the stage.
