Nintendo has just made accessible a fresh assortment of classic games for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members. You can now enjoy three additional Sega Genesis games – Streets of Rage, Super Thunder Blade, and ESWAT: City Under Siege – via the service.
The collection of timeless Sega Genesis games can only be found within the Expansion Pack subscription for Nintendo Switch Online. This top-tier plan offers all the perks from the standard Switch Online service, in addition to playing classic N64 and GBA games, extra DLC like the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Happy Home Paradise expansion for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription is priced at $20 annually, whereas the Expansion Pack version costs $50 per year. Additionally, Nintendo provides a family plan that goes for $80 each year and allows access to up to eight different Nintendo Accounts across various systems.
As a gamer, I can’t help but feel spoiled by Nintendo, always delivering fresh content to my Switch Online subscription. Recently, they dropped Wario Land 4 onto the Game Boy Advance library, which was a fantastic addition back in February. In March, they didn’t disappoint either, with Donkey Kong ’94 and Mario’s Picross being added to the mix. It’s like they’re constantly leveling up my gaming experience!
On Switch 2, the service is set to grow further. Apart from the existing collection of classic games, members with the Expansion Pack will also gain access to GameCube titles on this latest console. At launch, three games (The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, SoulCalibur II, and F-Zero GX) will be available, while more popular ones like Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion, and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance are planned for release in the future.
Users of Nintendo Switch Online will also get to utilize one of the significant new features on Nintendo Switch 2: GameChat. This feature enables players to effortlessly converse with friends and display their screen during cooperative multiplayer sessions. All owners of Nintendo Switch 2 can test out GameChat for free until March 2026, after which it will only be available with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
