Elite Dangerous has come a long way over the past year, and now it’s got a seriously gorgeous new ship to show for it

According to the 2025 plan, Frontier introduced the Gutamaya Corsair update for Elite Dangerous on April 8th. This new vessel is a successor to the Imperial Clipper, but not everyone has the chance to acquire it as of now. Although some players are hesitant about its design, it’s looking like a strong ship with powerful weaponry, vast cargo capacity, and an exceptional jump range.

Gutamaya Corsair – the bird of prey

Currently, the Gutamaya Corsair is a versatile ship available exclusively for purchase using the game’s premium currency, ARX. There are two versions of this ship: the Standard edition priced at 16,520 ARX and the Stellar edition costing 33,000 ARX. If you wish to acquire it immediately, you will need to spend real money.

After a couple of months, you’ll be able to purchase this item using in-game currency, and there’s no need to have a specific Imperial Navy rank – meaning that once it’s for sale, everyone will have the opportunity to acquire it.

The Gutamaya Corsair is categorized as a versatile vessel, excelling at various tasks, but it truly excels as a specialized hunter. Although it resembles another bird-like ship, this one has a laser-firing pirate bird’s edge. Those who have tried it praise its rail-guided maneuverability and minimal drift, making it perfect for targeting, pursuing, and, in layman’s terms, “redistributing” their cargo. With a touch of engineering and an effective fuel scoop, it can accelerate to approximately 600 m/s – clearly designed for the pursuit.
