Tom Hiddleston is teasing what’s next for Loki in the upcoming MCU epic “Avengers: Doomsday.”
When talking to ComicBook, Hiddleston expressed his eagerness to team up once more with the Russo Brothers for their upcoming project within the Marvel universe.
As a die-hard cinema enthusiast, I’m absolutely thrilled beyond words! It’s quite astonishing that I can finally discuss this because usually, I’m sworn to secrecy. This incredible journey as Loki has been an extraordinary part of my life, and the story isn’t concluded yet.
Tom Hiddleston initially embodied the trickster Norse deity in 2011’s “Thor”. He then reprised this role in “The Avengers” (2012), “Thor: The Dark World” (2013), “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015), “Thor: Ragnarok” (2017), “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018) and “Avengers: Endgame” (2019). He will also be seen reprising this role in the upcoming film “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” (2023).
Tom Hiddleston is among the several well-known actors set to reappear in “Avengers: Doomsday.” Additionally confirmed are Chris Hemsworth portraying Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier), and Paul Rudd playing Scott Lang/Ant-Man. Many others are also expected.
Additionally, a number of actors from the “X-Men” universe are coming back for “Doomsday,” marking its integration with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The cast of mutants includes Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer portraying Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique.
Following the premiere of “Doomsday” on May 1, 2026, Marvel Studios has planned to unveil the sequel, titled “Avengers: Secret Wars,” in the year 2027. Additionally, two major films are scheduled for release in 2025: “The Fantastic Four: First Footsteps” on July 25, and “Thunderbolts” on May 2nd.
