Mickey Rourke Gets ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ Warning After JoJo Siwa Calls Out His ‘Homophobic’ Comments

On the TV show “Celebrity Big Brother” on ITV, Mickey Rourke was given a formal caution following allegations by JoJo Siwa that he made disparaging remarks about her based on her sexual orientation.

On the U.K. edition of their shared series, both individuals found themselves in an awkward interaction during Wednesday’s episode. This conversation turned sour, resulting in a warning for Rourke. As reported by BBC, 72-year-old Rourke inquired about 21-year-old Siwa’s romantic preferences, specifically asking if she was attracted to boys or girls. Siwa clarified that her preference is towards girls and that her partner identifies as nonbinary. Rourke then stated, “If I stick around for more than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.” Siwa responded by assuring Rourke, “I can assure you that I will remain gay and my relationship will continue to thrive.

I’m not addressing you.”

Following these comments, Rourke found himself ushered into a private room where Big Brother cautioned him that his words were deemed “inappropriate and unsuitable,” further warning, “Continuing with such language or actions might result in your expulsion from the Big Brother residence.

I’m truly sorry. I don’t have dishonorable motives. I was just joking around, you understand. It wasn’t a serious matter for me. If my words gave offense or appeared to be malicious in any way, please accept my apologies.” Later on, Rourke also expressed his regret to Siwa, expressing that he “didn’t say it with ill intent.

Representatives for Rourke did not immediately respond to EbMaster‘s request for comment.

An ITV representative stated: “Each resident is given respect and diversity training, along with a thorough orientation from the ‘Big Brother’ leadership team to prepare them for life within the house. The rules for acceptable conduct and language from ‘Big Brother’ are clearly outlined. Residents are under constant supervision, and any instances of unacceptable behavior are promptly addressed.
