Hong Kong Seeks Streamer Collaborations After IShowSpeed’s Viral Visit

The tourism board of Hong Kong reached out to IShowSpeed due to his highly viral trip to China, where his streaming videos have been garnering millions of views. They are also open to collaborating with other streamers.

IShowSpeed is one of the net’s top streamers, thanks in no small part to his travels abroad.

Beginning in 2024, Speed garnered immense fan followings throughout Europe with his renowned tour – a phenomenon that repeats itself in China, where his broadcasts are capturing the interest of the Chinese government owing to his widespread popularity.

Initiated his live-stream from China on March 24th, and by April 8th, Speed has gained quite a significant popularity in the country, attracting a large number of spectators who accompany him in public.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but acknowledge the massive influence Speed has garnered on the global streaming scene. Intriguingly enough, even Hong Kong sought collaboration with an influential figure from the US, a fact confirmed by their Chief Executive, Mr. John Lee himself.

Hong Kong praises IShowSpeed in hopes of working with streamers

According to the Hong Kong Free Press, the Hong Kong tourism board reached out to influencer Speed, expressing interest in a collaboration. Although Speed didn’t reply, they expressed optimism about potential partnerships on upcoming projects.

According to Lee, who spoke on April 8th, the tourism board had reached out to Speed with several proposals and showed readiness to offer help, but it was Speed who didn’t initiate contact with the tourism board. As a result, no action was taken by the government.

To clarify, it’s important to note that should any figures like Speed or other influencers visit Hong Kong, the government will take advantage of the situation to showcase our city. I think we can all agree that it would be wonderful for Hong Kong to receive more exposure… Our goal is to highlight the benefits and charm of Hong Kong.

On more than one occasion, China’s administration has brought up the topic of Speed. Remarkably, state-controlled media outlets have praised this platform for fostering amicable connections between China and the U.S., even as political discord escalates between these two powers.

Speed’s endeavors have also gained recognition from various global governments, such as Peru, where he was appointed as an ambassador for the nation, amidst a crowd of approximately 20,000 enthusiastic spectators.

Few streamers excel as much as Speed does, and he’s still planning on visiting numerous locations worldwide. He even aims to become one of the pioneering content creators who stream live from outer space.
