In the game Nomad Idle, you’ll find yourself battling enemies from all sides. Initially, you’ll start with minimal resources – only two active abilities, no equipment, and standard stats. However, as you advance, you’ll unlock additional features that can make things challenging. To help you get off to a great start in the game, we’ve created this guide for beginners of Nomad Idle.
How to Unlock Summons in Nomad Idle
To activate the Summons feature in Nomad Idle, you’ll need to participate in the Faithful Companion Event that opens up in Area 2: Overrun Village. Unlike other events where you received free crafting recipes or features, this one requires you to accumulate a total of 10,000 souls before it becomes accessible.
How to Farm Souls Faster
Enemies release souls when they’re defeated, and the quicker you eliminate enemies, the higher the number of souls earned per minute. The amount of souls accumulated and souls-per-minute rate can be seen beside your mana bar at the screen’s top.
To accelerate your soul farming process within the game, it would be beneficial for you to advance through the stages, especially beyond stage 10. That’s because higher stages bring a denser enemy population, which means more souls can be collected quickly.
How to Upgrade Your Summons
Once unlocked, you’ll start with the Fox summon, which has four upgrade paths:
- Power – Increases damage
- Speed – Improves summon critical chance
- Insight – Increases the chance for your summon to use the left-click ability
- Acuity – Increases the chance and/or efficacy of the Summon trincket
Each upgrade costs souls, so you’ll want to keep farming even after unlocking your first companion.
How to Unlock Skills in Nomad Idle
As a gamer, I gain access to my Active/Passive skills by successfully navigating an Event within Area 3, known as Rat’s Nest. Once unlocked, these skills grant me four slots for active abilities and six passive skills that activate autonomously when the necessary mana is at hand.
Beginning your gameplay with the skills Cursor Cutter and Cursor Cyclone already activated, these skills work passively to assist you in defeating enemies more swiftly. They are particularly advantageous in challenging stages and tough areas of the game.
You can also strategically use your passive skills without draining too much mana, a technique known as “Smart Casting”. To activate it, simply right-click the mouse button on the assigned skill slot.
Best Skills
In Area 3: Rat’s Nest, where enemies start firing from a distance, it’s best to refrain from using skills that are power-packed but heavy on mana consumption. Skills that are effective in slaying enemies throughout the game can be useful, but be mindful of the ones that might drain your mana too quickly in this specific area.
In the game Nomad Idle, it is highly beneficial to possess the abilities known as “Whimsical Spark”, “Transparent Emblem”, and “Jester’s Blade”. Among all passive skills, these three stand out as exceptionally useful. The “Whimsical Spark” releases two projectiles that circle outward for five seconds, causing damage to any characters they collide with. Its effectiveness increases based on your Dexterity level.
The Shadeless Symbol inflicts harm on nearby foes every second for a span of three seconds. It’s an ideal ability when numerous melee enemies are swarming and attacking you. This attribute increases based on your Dexterity and Wisdom levels.
The “Dancing Dagger” ability launches four projectiles towards nearby adversaries. These projectiles hop off one target up to two times, avoiding any other opponents they encounter along the way. This skill possesses a certain probability of inflicting bleeding on its targets, and its effectiveness improves with both Strength (STR) and Agility stats.
How to Craft Weapons and Armor in Nomad Idle
You’ll gain access to the Inventory/Equip/Craft feature upon reaching Stage 5 within The Glentwood Area during the “Better Equipped” Event. Afterward, you’ll have two fundamental items at your disposal from the get-go.
- Broken Blade (Weapon)
- Leather Tunic (Armor)
With each step forward into uncharted territories and every climb up the ladder to greater levels, I’m finding myself equipped with more potent weapons and protective gear.
Why Crafting Matters
In the game Nomad Idle, it’s crucial to upgrade your gear for survival. From time to time, you’ll receive notifications encouraging you to enhance the tools you already have when you’ve gathered the required resources.
- Weapons improve:
- Base damage
- Critical hit chance
- Damage multiplier
- Armor boosts:
- Max HP
- Defense
- Health multiplier
Where to Find Crafting Materials
As a passionate crafter, I always need to know the exact materials required for each crafting recipe. These materials can be found by defeating enemies in various areas. To see what’s at my disposal: (I’m checking what resources are available)
- Open the World Map
- Hover over an Area to see its material drops (e.g., Bone, Hide, Gems) and Tier level (Tier 1, Tier 2, etc.).
If you’re looking for materials to make a chainmail, venture into a Tier 2 zone where you can battle opponents and collect the necessary crafting materials they may drop.
How to Get Stat Points & Upgrade Them in Nomad Idle
In Nomad Idle, Stat Points serve as the foundation for enhancing your character’s abilities. You’ll receive these points as you progress through levels, and each point can be allocated towards one of seven primary attributes.
- Strength
- Dexterity
- Agility
- Vitality
- Wisdom
- Intelligence (Locked at first, unlocks later)
- SPI (Also locked until progression)
Every time you vanquish adversaries, you amass experience points (XP). As soon as your XP gauge is full, your character advances to the next level and gets awarded 1 Stat Point. You’re free to allocate this point among any stat, with your choice being solely based on your chosen gaming approach.
Which Stats Matter Most?
Regarding statistics, each has its purpose, but health and mana are crucial for enduring extended gameplay sessions. To achieve a well-rounded character, it’s advisable to prioritize these three vital attributes initially:
1. Health: This stat determines your overall durability in the game, affecting how much damage you can withstand before being defeated.
2. Mana: This resource is essential for casting powerful spells or abilities. Without sufficient mana, your character may lack the necessary power to overcome certain challenges.
3. A third stat that could be important depending on your playstyle: This could include attributes like agility, intelligence, or strength, which might influence factors such as movement speed, spellcasting ability, or physical attack power.
- Vitality → Boosts max HP and health regeneration
- Wisdom → Increases max mana and mana regeneration
- Strength → Enhances physical damage (helpful for longer battles)
Because Nomad Idle lacks health and mana restoratives, focusing on increasing Vitality and Wisdom early on can significantly ease your gameplay experience.
How To Get Health and Mana in Nomad Idle
Initially launching Nomad Idle, your mana recharges at a snail’s pace, and you won’t find any self-healing mechanisms. Unlike many other games, there are no health restoration items like potions or pick-ups to boost your hit points. Therefore, you’ll have to rely on alternative strategies to keep yourself going in this game.
Maintaining yourself effectively involves boosting your “Life Force” or “Endurance” attribute. As you vanquish adversaries and collect experience points, you can allocate those points to enhance your Life Force. This improvement serves a dual purpose: it increases your overall health capacity and strengthens your resilience in battle.
- Increases your max HP
- Grants health regeneration per second (HP/s)
With every increase in your Vitality stat, you’ll see your character’s health gradually recovering on its own. The speed at which it recovers is clearly indicated beneath the health meter, allowing you to keep tabs on the rate at which your Health Points (HP) are being restored each second.
Similarly, investing points into the Wisdom stat boosts your mana sustainability by:
- Increasing your max mana pool
- Improving mana regeneration per second (MP/s)
As a player immersed in the game, I found that as you progress and unveil the summoning abilities, Wisdom serves an additional purpose: it amplifies the critical damage of your summons. Consequently, this stat becomes indispensable for enhancing the summons’ overall damage output per second.
To smartly allocate resources into these statistics will help prolong your character’s life and allow for smoother, more effective use of abilities within the game Nomad Idle.

To create your armor and weapons, you’ll have to gather necessary resources that can be acquired by defeating opponents. Consult the World Map and Area List to discover where these materials are dropped in each specific location.
To access the Summons feature in Nomad Idle, you’ll need to participate in the Faithful Companion event, a feature that becomes accessible once you reach Area 2: Overrun Village.
You’ll see improvements in your health as you invest XP into the Vitality attribute, allowing for regeneration.
You need Souls to both unlock and upgrade Summons.
