Yes, Hollow Knight: Sillksong Will Launch On Both Nintendo Switch And Switch 2

One of the creators of the eagerly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong has made it clear that the indie Metroidvania game will be playable on both the current Nintendo Switch model and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, once it is eventually released.

Since there has been much anticipation for Hollow Knight: Silksong, especially with its recent showcase on the Switch 2, it may lead some to question if the game is now exclusive to the Switch 2. To set the record straight, Matthew Griffin from Team Cherry’s marketing and publishing team confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will indeed be available for both the Nintendo Switch AND the Nintendo Switch 2.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is well-known for having a lengthy delay between its announcement and release date. The sequel to Hollow Knight was initially presented at E3 2019 by developer Team Cherry, with an extended gameplay demonstration even streamed live on Nintendo. After that, there was no news about the game for several years until it was shown again during Microsoft’s 2022 Xbox Games Showcase, suggesting it would be released within the year. However, it didn’t meet that deadline.

We didn’t catch another glimpse of the upcoming game Hollow Knight: Silksong until the April 2023 Nintendo Switch Direct, where it was briefly shown in a trailer featuring other games, hinting at a potential release date of 2025. This seems to indicate that we might be able to play Hollow Knight: Silksong this year itself, and Nintendo players will have the choice to select their preferred version of the game.

Fortunately, Hollow Knight: Silksong isn’t going to be exclusive to consoles. Instead, it’s planned for launch on multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo systems, at some point this year.
