MSNBC Hires Madeleine Haeringer, NBC News Veteran, to Run Digital, Audio, Longform

Before, Haeringer had a 22-year tenure at NBC News, where she held the position of senior vice president for editorial and oversaw cross-platform coverage that spanned cable, broadcast, and streaming. Moreover, she managed teams focusing on business and technology, health, race, and social inequality, as well as climate issues. Additionally, she was involved in creating documentaries and scripted programs.

Following her departure from NBC News in 2022, she took up the role of Executive Vice President and General Manager at Crooked Media. In this position, she oversaw the strategic planning, creation, and distribution of content for their progressive media company’s diverse portfolio. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in spearheading NBC News’ production of short-form content for Quibi, a now-defunct streaming service. Additionally, she was part of Vice Media during the launch of their weekday news program that aired on HBO.

MSNBC is making an effort to assemble a unique team of news personnel, as it will no longer have access to NBC News’ news-gathering resources after Comcast separates most of its cable operations into a new, publicly traded company by the end of 2025. This separation is anticipated to take place.

After assuming the presidency of MSNBC earlier this year, Rebecca Kutler has initiated a series of changes within the network. This includes reorganizing the programming schedule and recruiting fresh executive team members, who are now responsible for bolstering news-gathering operations in Washington, D.C.
