In approximately two months, starting from June 5, Nintendo is gearing up to fulfill the demand for the upcoming Switch 2. This means that stock of the console has begun to be dispatched worldwide, including its arrival in the United States. Essentially, the Switch 2 has now made it to the U.S.
During a chat with CNBC, the president of Nintendo of America, Doug Bowser, talked about pre-orders and fulfilling launch demands. When inquired about whether they could meet the demand at launch, he replied, “We’ll have to wait and see, but that is undoubtedly our aim.
Bowser stated that we’ve been able to stockpile supplies worldwide, and we’re optimistic about fulfilling the required demand. In fact, some of these stocks have already arrived in certain parts of the U.S.

Apart from purchasing the Nintendo Switch 2 from conventional retailers, you can also buy it directly from Nintendo, but the process is slightly more complex than a typical retail transaction. For customers in the US looking to purchase a Switch 2 via the My Nintendo Store, they must first express their interest to receive an invitation to pre-order the console. Nintendo will primarily extend these invitations to users who have maintained an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription for at least a year and have logged in more than 50 hours of gameplay.
In that context, our main objective was to acknowledge and reward our most dedicated players by offering them priority access to purchase the product and an early opportunity to queue up. Bowser, commenting on Nintendo’s preorder strategy, emphasized that each of Nintendo’s retail partners will manage their own preorder processes. This system is intended to restrict scalpers from hoarding inventory for resale purposes.
As a gamer eagerly anticipating the preorder for Nintendo Switch 2, I’ve got some news that might affect us all. Originally slated for April 9th, the release date has been pushed back temporarily for US gamers. The reason? Nintendo is carefully evaluating the possible effects of tariffs and changing market conditions on the upcoming console.
