Hollywood Heavyweight Ted Field Joins Indie Film ‘To Love a Narcissist’ – What’s the Buzz?

Experienced filmmaker Ted Field, known for movies like “Cocktail,” “The Last Samurai,” “Jumanji,” and Amazon’s “Wheel of Time,” has agreed to serve as executive producer for the independent psychological drama “To Love a Narcissist,” helmed by director Raffaello Degruttola.

The movie drama from Contro Vento Films, titled “Relationship Drama,” features Lyndsey Marshal (“Rome,” “The Hours”), Degruttola himself (“Ted Lasso,” “Rush”), Stephen Campbell Moore (“Masters of The Air,” “Downton Abbey”), and Sule Rimi (“The Day of The Jackal,” “Dr Who”). Last year, Sadie Frost came aboard as an executive producer for the project. Additionally, Bill Bossert and Lyndsey Marshal are also serving as executive producers on this film.

In the movie’s summary, ‘To Love a Narcissist,’ it’s suggested that trust is used as a tool. Charlotte and Roberto are in a relationship, but the film reveals the subtle control enacted by the covert narcissist. As layers of manipulation and heartfelt vulnerability unfold, the strength of trust gradually weakens until it’s overwhelmed by the powerful effects of betrayal.

Field got acquainted with the project through a mutual acquaintance and was instantly intrigued. “Once I began watching,” Field stated, “I realized I couldn’t tear myself away. The writing is witty, the actors and their performances are captivating, and the narrative style is unlike anything I’ve seen before. This movie holds its own against big-budget productions in the same genre.

The manufacturer is set to play a key role in promoting the release of the movie, which is all set to kick off its festival run this coming summer, starting with the Ariano International Film Festival in July.

The project is originated from Contro Vento Films, a small-scale production company known for its commitment to hyperrealism and cinematic influences stemming from the Italian neorealism of the 1940s. Notably, Degruttola’s previous work, titled “Transference: A Bipolar Love Story,” has amassed a staggering 27 million views on YouTube following its viral spread online.

Field expressed great pleasure in collaborating with Raff and Sadie Frost on ‘To Love a Narcissist’ as an executive producer, aiding independent films and assisting filmmakers in finding suitable platforms for movies that merit public viewing.
