In the Monster Hunter series, gameplay centers around tracking down your target in lush landscapes, pursuing them from one location to another while gathering resources from nature. Yet, at times, it can be desirable for your prey to stay put instead of fleeing continuously. Luckily, Capcom creators have taken note and provide arena quests, tailored to those who prefer this type of playstyle.
In Title Update 1, Monster Hunter Wilds introduced missions that shift away from the game’s usual open-world exploration towards focused encounters with the game’s titular creatures. Initially, these quests might appear simple due to the monsters being unable to escape, but to survive, you’ll need to learn and use new equipment and skills.
How To Access Arena Quests
In the newly added Grand Hub region, you can discover arena quests. This area was unveiled with Title Update 1. Upon interacting with Tetsuzan, you’ll gain access to the Hub through the Peaks Back Gate located in Suja.
You can also fast travel directly to the Grand Hub through the map screen.
Upon your arrival, navigate towards Ricardo who is stationed at the Arena Quest Counter, centrally located within the Hub. You’ll spot Lotta nearby too; she initiates regular missions. Approach Ricardo, have a chat with him, and you’ll be ready to schedule an arena fight for yourself and your team.
Arena Quests, Explained
Arena quests appear to have a simplified difficulty level since you and the monster are both restricted within a confined area. This means you won’t waste time pursuing the monster, and due to the limited space, it won’t be capable of evading your persistent attacks.
Additionally, you could engage the centrally located barrier on the battlefield, effectively dividing the space into two sections and thereby restricting movement even more.
Instead, you should be aware that arena quests require you to use preselected armor and weapon sets prior to engaging in combat.
In a simpler term, using your pouch means you’ll only be able to use the items that the game provides for you.
For each quest, you’ll have several equipment choices to examine; check out the weaponry and abilities on offer to find the one that suits you best.
There are a few different types of arena challenges you can choose from, and they are as follows:

Arena Quest Rewards
Once you’ve defeated your chosen beast, you’ll receive its specific coins as a prize. These coins can be utilized at the forge with Gemma, who has the ability to craft entirely new armor sets for you. Additionally, you might gain pendants, which are useful for personalizing your character’s appearance.
Your quest rewards are based on how quickly you kill your target, so don’t hold back.
