In a fiery beginning for April, Nintendo, the well-known Japanese publisher, unveiled their eagerly awaited Direct broadcast, focusing on the upcoming launch of their device, the Nintendo Switch 2. During this event, various first-party and third-party games were revealed to be destined for the Nintendo Switch 2 console, with some set to debut alongside it in the same year or at later dates in 2025 and beyond.
As a gaming enthusiast eagerly awaiting the Nintendo Switch 2, I can’t help but get excited about one of the confirmed third-party releases – Ubisoft’s spacefaring action-adventure game, Star Wars Outlaws. Originally launched for consoles and PCs on August 30, 2024, the game finally found its way onto Steam on November 21, 2024, along with the Wild Card expansion. Now, the long-awaited final platform release is nearly upon us, and it’s got me speculating about the potential launch of its next DLC!

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been eagerly awaiting updates on our beloved galactic action-adventure game since the recent Title Update 1.5.2 back in February 2025. To my delight, the developers at Massive Entertainment have finally broken their silence! In an exciting turn of events, they’ve unveiled that Star Wars Outlaws will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 console, as part of their spotlight feature showcasing various games from their publishing and development partners. I can hardly contain my excitement for this new journey in the galaxy far, far away!
On social media, Massive Entertainment officially revealed that the game Star Wars Outlaws will make its way to Switch 2 consoles around 2025. They mentioned that more details about the game’s release on Switch 2 will be shared in the upcoming months. The anticipated launch of the Switch 2 is set for June 5th, 2025 worldwide, and it’s expected that Star Wars Outlaws will follow soon after the console’s debut.
According to the game’s schedule revealed in August 2024, the developer disclosed two story expansions, one of which, titled “Wild Card,” was released together with the game’s launch on Steam in November 2024. The second expansion, called “A Pirate’s Fortune,” is set to be launched in Spring 2025. Although it’s unlikely that this DLC release will align with Star Wars Outlaws’ arrival on Switch 2 when it launches on the next Nintendo platform, it’s highly probable that both DLCs will be released simultaneously with the base game for a complete Star Wars experience on Switch 2.
