Jake Shane is set to appear in “Hacks” Season 4, EbMaster has learned exclusively.
As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to step into the role of Social Media Girlie in our beloved comedy’s upcoming fourth season. This highly anticipated season will grace our screens on Max at 9 p.m. ET, starting April 10. According to the official synopsis, the tension escalates as Deborah and Ava strive to launch their late-night show and make history in the process.
Shane is a popular comedian and podcast host who boasts more than 4.9 million followers on various social media sites. Debuting in January 2024, his podcast titled “Therapuss with Jake Shane” quickly gained attention from listeners. In the U.S., Spotify’s annual report for 2024 ranked “Therapuss” as the seventh most eagerly awaited new podcast launch among its users.
Recently, Shane appeared alongside Alix Earle and Rob Rausch in a commercial for prebiotic soda brand Poppi during the Super Bowl. Currently, he’s embarking on his largest tour yet, titled “LIVE with Jake Shane,” covering over 35 cities throughout North America. Prior to this, he hosted the live tour “Therapuss Live” and released his debut comedy album “Puss & Poems.
In the lead roles of ‘Hacks’, we see Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder. The series also features Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Lorenza Izzo, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell, and Aristotle Athari. Previously announced additional cast members include Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins, Bresha Webb, Robby Hoffman, Eric Balfour, Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore III, Holmes, Jasmine Ashanti, Katy Sullivan, Matt Oberg, and Sandy Honig.
Lucia Aniello, Jen Statsky, and Downs (no last name given) are the creators of “Hacks” and serve as showrunners and executive producers. Lucia Aniello and Downs executive produce under their Paulilu banner, while Jen Statsky does so through First Thought Productions. Michael Schur executive produces for Fremulon, along with David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, Morgan Sackett, and Joe Mande. The studio behind it all is Universal Television.
