In today’s Nintendo Switch 2 presentation, the company unveiled an exciting new function called GameShare. This feature allows multiple players to enjoy a single game together on a local network, using just one copy of a compatible title. Remarkably, games that originally demand multiple screens can still be played, provided one participant owns the appropriate game version.
With GameShare, you’ll be able to play games together regardless of whether your system is a Switch 2 or the original Switch. This cross-system functionality lets you connect with local friends on different devices. Additionally, GameShare introduces GameChat, a voice chat feature that allows players to communicate during gameplay. The GameChat function can be activated using the new C button.
A variety of games such as Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Super Mario 3D World, Club House Games, Super Mario Odyssey, Big Brain Academy, and others are set to be released on GameShare.
GameShare is designed to work exclusively with games that are compatible, and it will gradually become available through upcoming software upgrades. The initial free upgrade will introduce the feature for Clubhouse Games.
It’s worth noting that GameShare is intended for some titles specifically designed for the Switch 2. However, the specifics about these exclusive games weren’t disclosed during the presentation.
