Nintendo has officially confirmed that the new Nintendo Switch model, colloquially known as the “Nintendo Switch 2,” is set to debut on June 5th. Alongside the launch date, numerous accessories and additional specifics were unveiled as well.
Here’s a more conversational way to present the information:
In addition to unveiling other details, Nintendo shared that the screen on their upcoming device supports 1080p resolution, High Dynamic Range (HDR), and up to 120 frames per second (fps). This screen is an LCD type and will come with 256GB of storage. The dock it comes with will offer 4K support, but the 4K mode can only run at 60fps; however, it includes additional cooling features. Both Joy-Cons on the new console will be compatible with mouse controls. Nintendo also confirmed that microSD Express cards will be necessary for the Nintendo Switch 2, as regular microSD cards won’t work. The Nintendo Switch 2 will offer exclusive games, games originally designed for the Nintendo Switch, and special editions of existing Nintendo Switch games.
On June 5th, we’ll see the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. Further information will be shared at a later date. Here’s a peek at some of its accessories, displayed in the gallery below:
