It’s been verified that there are leaks about Overwatch 2, indicating a partnership for Season 16 with Gundam Wing to mark the show’s 30th anniversary.
In a new development, it’s been revealed that Gundam will team up with Overwatch 2 for a collaboration, joining the ranks of anime giants like One-Punch Man and Cowboy Bebop who have already partnered with Overwatch 2 in anticipation of Season 16.
In March, dataminers revealed a logo for a Gundam Wing 30th anniversary image in the OW2 files.
It appears that significant leaks about Overwatch 2 Season 16 have surfaced, revealing updates such as the main screen featuring Juno in a Mythic skin and new Mythic aspects for Junkerqueen. Additionally, a collaboration is on the horizon.
In terms of skin name changes, Overwatch 1 will now be referred to as Classic, while Overwatch 2 will be known as Valorous. This seems to indicate that Blizzard may be phasing out the “Overwatch 2” branding, so say goodbye to…

At that point, the collaboration hadn’t been officially verified yet, but players were eagerly anticipating the possibility and speculating about the potential character outfits that might be developed.
On April 1st, the official Overwatch 2 X account rejoiced along with Gundam Wing as they celebrated their anniversary, leaving players buzzing with anticipation.
Overwatch 2 fans excited for Gundam Wing collab
On platform X, the Gundam account posted: “Gundam Wing debuted on April 7th, 1995 in Japan and is soon to mark its 30th anniversary. Join us for a year-long celebration from April 1st, 2021 until 2026!
After that, Overwatch replied, “30 years filled with incredible fights and captivating tales. Happy Anniversary, Gundam Wing.
30 years of epic battles and legendary storytelling. Happy Anniversary, Gundam Wing 🦾🔥

It appears this unexpected reply strongly suggests that collaboration is about to take place. Furthermore, the account has been actively engaging with other users, consistently using the mysterious “eyes” emoji as a symbol.
It’s widely speculated that the character Pharah may receive new skins, given her existing ones from Overwatch 1 which seem influenced by an anime series.
“Gundam Wing collab might make me play Pharah. Truly tragic,” one said.
“Gundam? BASTION SKIN PLEASE,” another chimed in.
In simpler terms, “Dafran, a Twitch streamer and ex-Overwatch pro, excitedly suggested a crossover of Overwatch and Gundam Wing. He hinted at a potential mechanical dominance and warned that if Barbatos Ramattra isn’t included, there could be unrest.
Combining the worlds of Overwatch and Gundam Wing? That’s an exciting prospect! We’re in for some massive robot domination. Better bring on Barbatos Ramattra, or else there’ll be an uproar! 🔥

Let’s wait and see what the developers are working on, as it’s worth noting that a combination of Gundam and Overwatch isn’t unprecedented – in a sense, they’ve intersected before.
In the year 2022, Bandai introduced a hero shooter game named ‘Gundam Evolution’, which resembled the gameplay style of Overwatch, a title by Blizzard.
Despite a decent start, the game never took off and its servers were shut down in November, 2023.
