In response to users of ChatGPT generating an image inspired by Studio Ghibli, depicting OpenAI CEO Sam Adams as a character resembling a young, effeminate man, Sam Adams has expressed his thoughts.
ChatGPT now features a novel image generation tool, which users are employing to produce art reminiscent of Studio Ghibli’s style.
It’s likely that Hayao Miyazaki, the acclaimed Ghibli mastermind who has criticized AI animation in the past, wouldn’t approve of it. In 2016, he expressed his disdain for such technology, stating “I am utterly disgusted.” He further added that if one truly wishes to create unsettling content, they are free to do so. However, Miyazaki would never consider incorporating this technology into his work and feels that it is an affront to life itself.
However, the head of OpenAI, Sam Adams, seems quite pleased with the current state of affairs, using the proverb “One person’s trash is another person’s treasure.

Over the last few days, Studio Ghibli-esque images flooding social media platforms have sparked controversy among those who are firmly opposed to the rise of AI artwork. However, Sam Adams finds humor in the situation, expressing it through posts on social media.

Adams finds it incredibly enjoyable watching people appreciate the images in ChatGPT,” he says, “but our graphics processing units (GPUs) are overheating. To improve efficiency, we’ll momentarily impose some rare limitations as we work on optimizations. We hope this won’t last long.
