Monument Valley Trilogy Revealed At Nintendo Direct, Coming To Switch Consoles This Year

On March 27th, 2025, Nintendo unexpectedly conducted a Direct presentation, only a day after revealing it on social platforms. The Japanese gaming company was fairly tight-lipped about the specifics of this presentation, but they did make clear that no information regarding their upcoming console, dubbed Switch 2, would be discussed in it.

Despite a limited number of new titles being unveiled during the digital event, it was exciting to learn that Ustwo Games’ Monument Valley series will soon be available on Nintendo Switch. Fortunately, fans can look forward to playing the first two installments of this intriguing isometric puzzle game on their Switch consoles starting in April, with the upcoming release of the latest entry scheduled for later this year.

Beyond and Pokémon Legends Z-A, didn’t receive new release dates, but others did, like Monument Valley from Ustwo Games and its sequel, Monument Valley 2.

Back in 2014 and 2017, I got my hands on some BAFTA Games award-winning independent puzzle games that featured captivating protagonists. These games took me on a mesmerizing journey through intricately designed puzzles and optical illusions, all wrapped up in visually stunning landscapes. The experience was thought-provoking and dreamlike, and it’s no surprise that they were warmly welcomed by gamers upon their release. They quickly became known as some of the most aesthetically pleasing gaming experiences, even being compared to works of art.

Based on the trailer shown during the Nintendo Direct broadcast, it has been announced that both Monument Valley and its sequel, Monument Valley 2, will be making their way to Nintendo Switch consoles, set for release on April 15th, 2025. Pre-orders are now available. Additionally, Ustwo Games’ latest installment in the series, Monument Valley 3, is also planned for the Nintendo Switch and is expected to arrive during the summer of 2025, with a specific release date to be disclosed by the developer at some point this year.
