Next week, Monster Hunter Wilds will receive its inaugural free Title Update, introducing Mizutsune into the game. However, there’s even more excitement to look forward to. Capcom has hinted at a future significant update for Wilds, and it seems that the returning apex water beast, Lagiacrus, is set to appear in this next update, scheduled for release in summer 2025.
Capcom unveiled some details about Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update 2 during their March 2025 showcase, and before wrapping up, they revealed a sneak peek hinting at the recognizable paw and claws of Lagiacrus. They also teased that the next free update is set for summer 2025. The upcoming roadmap suggests there will be a seasonal event coinciding with Title Update 2’s release, as well.
Since the exhilarating launch at the end of February 2025, I’ve been utterly engrossed in Monster Hunter Wilds. The game has been showered with accolades as players delve into its challenging endgame content. Next week, we’ll be diving into even more adventures with Title Update 1, a free expansion that introduces Mitzutsune, the formidable tempered Rey Dau, an endgame Gathering Hub, and much more. But what truly excites me is Lagiacrus, a fearsome aquatic leviathan from Monster Hunter 3. It usually reigns supreme wherever it shows up, so I can’t wait to take on this formidable foe when it returns this upcoming summer.
Looking forward to the arrival of Lagiacrus this summer 2025, expect an increase in information about the monster as we approach the upcoming season. Keep a close eye on the Monster Hunter Wilds discussion for updates and tips to assist you along your adventure.
