Pokemon Legends Z-A leak could be disastrous for the Pokedex but it makes sense

Rumors about the upcoming game, Pokémon Legends Z-A, are spreading rapidly online, and a reliable source’s statement might disappoint collectors significantly.

Even though the spin-off series is just starting out, Pokémon Legends: Arceus from 2022 set some unprecedented trends in the franchise, which many believed would continue in any subsequent installments.

Besides special battle and capturing mechanisms, as well as a more conventional journey structure through quests, Arceus presented numerous first-time evolutions and local variations for existing Pokémon. Until then, completely new Pokedex entries were exclusive to the primary role-playing games.

As a dedicated Pokémon trainer, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the discovery of new species in the Kalos region upon my return. But if the leaks circulating since March 25 are true, it seems like my quest for fresh Pokémon might hit a pause, leaving me with the ones I’ve already encountered.

No surprises for Legends Z-A’s Pokedex

According to information provided by an unidentified source, Centro Leaks stated that the series “Legends Z-A” won’t add any new Pokémon species throughout its duration.

It’s not entirely certain from the leakers’ remarks whether they are suggesting that no new Pokémon at all will be introduced, or just new variations or modifications of existing ones, instead of completely fresh designs.

Pokémon Legends Z-A will not introduce any new Pokémon species.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but get excited about the return of Mega Evolution in Z-A! It sure feels like a significant chunk of Game Freak’s creative energy has been poured into this feature, making it an intriguing prospect.

Though Mega Evolution is temporary, any Pokemon capable of this transformation undergoes a significant change in form. If the claim that there are 27 new Mega Evolutions is accurate, it would require a considerable amount of time from the character artists and coincidentally aligns with the 22 additions to the National Pokedex in the game Legends Arceus.

Another possibility is that everything mentioned might just be a work of imagination – it won’t be clear until the release of Pokemon Legends Z-A, expected in autumn 2025.
