After the emotional Severance Season 2 finale, fans have been anxious about what might happen next, but fear not! One of the series’ leading actors, Dichen Lachman, has recently eased everyone’s concerns by revealing some exciting news. (Spoiler alert!)

In the climactic scenes of the Severance series finale, the tension was palpable indeed. Innie Mark successfully guided Gemma to safety, but just as he was about to exit the door, transforming back into his Outer self, Helly appeared on the scene.

Afterward, there was a pause, during which Mark found himself conflicted: should he surrender to his duties as an Outie, or remain with Helly, venturing into an uncertain future at Lumon. Ultimately, he opted for Helly, leaving Gemma calling out his name on the other side of the door.

In me, the passionate fan, the digital sphere buzzed with growing disapproval towards Innie Mark, leaving many of us concerned for poor Gemma, presuming she wasn’t aware of his true nature. Yet, Lachman swiftly set the record straight on this issue.

Gemma knew Mark was an Innie during Severance S2 finale

Despite fans assuming Gemma was unaware of the changes happening outside (specifically, that Mark had transformed into an Innie during his mourning phase), it’s been clarified that in those last moments, Gemma indeed understood that she was gazing upon Mark’s Innie.

She stated through Variety that she’s unsure of how much information she has about the situation beyond the building. However, it seems to her that she presumes or figures out that the person on the other side of the door is disconnected, and so are those people.

Previously, it was mentioned that Mauer had moved on with someone else, but after observing their interaction, I believe this isn’t likely. Instead, it seems more plausible that the woman is attempting to connect with Mauer as he appears detached, and she’s merely trying to reach him emotionally.

For me, it’s as if I’d say, “Ah, that’s probably the innie’s buddy or potential romantic interest.” In that instant, I don’t believe there’s room for her to ponder too deeply about it. Instead, it seems more like a sudden realization.

Many viewers will find great comfort knowing that they aren’t alone in their distress, as they watched Gemma’s anxious and emotional reaction to Mark leaving.

Shortly after, Helly and I find ourselves dashing through the corridor as alarms blare and lights flicker ominously. The uprising among Lumon’s Innies casts an uncertain future upon us, yet I can’t help but feel a glimmer of hope knowing that Season 3 is on its way, poised to shed light on some of these intriguing mysteries.
