Only Murders in the Building” Returns for its Fifth Season on Hulu

In this new season of our beloved show, packed with star-studded performances, you’ll see even more awards recipients gracing your screens. This year, the show bagged two awards itself – Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Martin Short won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series at the SAG Awards in February.

To add to the glamour, a two-time Oscar winner has joined the cast! It’s the most prestigious comedy-mystery series on TV today. Here’s what we know so far about the star-studded fifth season.

Who’s joining the cast?

On March 21st, as reported by Variety, two-time Academy Award laureate Christoph Waltz joined the cast. His presence brings a more somber tone than usual for this show, but it’s possible that this season could take on a Quentin Tarantino style. Balancing him out will be Keegan-Michael Key, known from Key & Peele.

What’s it going to be about?

There hasn’t been any formal announcement about the specific storylines yet. In the final episode of season four, it was revealed that Lester the doorman (portrayed by Teddy Coluca) was shot in the courtyard fountain, leaving a murder mystery for the trio to investigate within the building. Furthermore, Sofia Caccimelio, the enigmatic mob wife (played by Téa Leoni), appeared at the end of last season seeking assistance, and it’s been confirmed that she will reappear in season five according to Deadline. It seems Selena Gomez will be returning to the world of organized crime as Emilia Pérez? That’s her path.

When’s the release date?
