Split Fiction Is Getting A Movie Adaptation, Just Like it Takes Two

The debut of Split Fiction by Hazelight Studios and EA couldn’t have been more successful. In merely two weeks, Split Fiction has climbed up to become EA’s second highest-grossing game on Steam of all time. Now, there are rumors that a Split Fiction movie is being developed, which is expected to spark intense competition among Hollywood Studios in the bidding process.

As reported by Variety, Hazelight is once again working with Story Kitchen, the media firm instrumental in securing movie rights for their previous game It Takes Two. This deal saw Amazon MGM Studios as the buyer. Currently, Hazelight and Story Kitchen are gathering cast members, writers, and a director to present a pitch for Split Fiction to potential buyers. In simpler terms, they are collaborating on a project called Split Fiction, bringing together actors, scriptwriters, and directors, with the aim of finding interested studios or production companies to finance it.

The story revolves around Zoe and Mio, two young ladies initially unacquainted, as they find themselves entangled in a blend of science fiction and fantasy narratives they’ve authored. To break free from this virtual realm and reenter reality, these women must collaborate and employ their abilities to navigate through the ordeal successfully.

In a notable milestone since 2012’s Mass Effect 2, Split Fiction is EA’s initial game to garner a Metacritic score of 90 or higher. Moreover, TopMob awarded it a perfect 10/10 in their review. Hazelight revealed earlier this month that Split Fiction has surpassed sales of two million units, indicating its potential for being among the top-selling games in March.
