As a fellow enthusiast, I can’t help but feel nostalgic for the chilling ambiance of the early survival horror games. If you too yearn for those heart-pounding moments, then you might want to take note of the recently unveiled title, Phase Zero.
- This is the debut project of the Polish studio SPINA, founded by veterans of such teams as CD Projekt RED and Techland. The SUPERHOT Presents team will help with the release.
- The game is currently heading exclusively for PC and will be sold on Steam. However, the developers also plan to release versions for other platforms.
- At the moment, the devs aren’t ready to announce the planned release date. However, a demo is soon to be released.
Influenced by survival horror games from the 90s, the creators are designing Phase Zero to feature backdrops that have been pre-rendered and characters with three-dimensional models sporting pixelated textures, similar to those found on the original PlayStation. To achieve a nostalgic feel, they will blend these retro aesthetics with modern gameplay enhancements.
In 1994, the events of Phase Zero unfold in the small American town of Flint Peak. A baffling disease alters human beings into grotesque creatures with bulging muscle tissue, while simultaneously infecting structures around them. The narrative will follow two individuals, a reporter named Mary and an engineer called Guy, as they struggle to endure and flee from the city amidst this terrifying transformation.
In this game, players will stick to traditional gameplay mechanics common within its genre. This will involve strategically managing your ammo supply and methodically exploring various locations.
