Overcoming the toughest hurdles in Split Fiction isn’t a walk in the park for any gamer, and there lies an even more daunting secret stage that truly tests our mettle. But for those daring few who conquered Laser Hell as a team, the creators at Hazelight Studios are offering a fantastic reward – a trip to Sweden to catch a sneak peek of their upcoming project!
Spoilers for accessing the secret level to follow.
Through Video Games Chronicle, Laser Hell is accessible in the Isolation level once players input the right sequence of button presses while riding the elevator. Upon the elevator doors opening subsequently, characters Zoe and Mio, controlled by the players, are plunged into a challenging platforming stage filled with moving lasers, reminiscent of designs concocted by particularly malevolent Super Mario Maker creators.
Initially, two Chinese gamers, known as sharkOvO and E1uM4y, were the pioneers who shared a video of them triumphantly navigating through Laser Hell. This achievement was recognized with a video message from Josef Fares, the founder of Hazelight Studios, extending his congratulations to the viewer and revealing that many employees in their office find it difficult to clear this level. He further invited the first players to conquer Laser Hell to visit Hazelight’s headquarters in Sweden to catch a glimpse of their upcoming, as-yet-unrevealed game. Later on, Fares acknowledged sharkOvO and E1uM4y on social media, confirming that they had already secured the trip, hinting at future communication.
Well done to “sharkOvO” and “E1uM4y” on successfully completing the covert challenge, “Laser Hell,” within #splitficton. You’ve both truly outdone yourselves! As a token of my word, I extend invitations to you both for an exclusive sneak peek at our upcoming game in Sweden. We’ll be reaching out soon! 😊

Within a week of its launch in early March, Split Fiction surpassed EA’s second-highest selling game on Steam, outranking popular titles like Battlefield and FIFA. The game has also garnered exceptional praise, receiving a perfect 10/10 from TopMob, and marking the first EA release since Mass Effect 2 in 2012 to score 90 or above on Metacritic.
