Steam once again proves its dominance in the PC market, breaking another user activity record. As recently as yesterday, Valve’s platform reached the highest number of simultaneously logged-in players in history—40,486,225 people (via SteamDB). In recent years, Steam has been consistently raising the bar. Nearly five years ago, this “record” number was 20 million, and just at the beginning of March this year, it doubled.
It’s quite probable that the Spring Sale on Steam significantly contributed to the rise in the user base, as the event offered numerous discounted games and DLCs, attracting a large number of gamers seeking bargains.
Counter-Strike 2 in record-breaking form
Counter-Strike 2 also achieved a fantastic result. At its peak, the game attracted 1,824,989 players simultaneously, thereby setting a new activity record. This is the best result in the series’ history and another proof of the title’s enduring popularity.
R.E.P.O – new hit on Steam
Among the record holders, we can also add an unexpected Steam star – R.E.P.O., a cooperative horror game with very good reviews. The game reached its highest score yesterday, attracting over 207,000 users simultaneously (via SteamDB). Since its release (February 26th) in Early Access, REPO has been regularly breaking its own records and enjoying great reception, maintaining 96% positive reviews.
