DOTA 2 caster calls out Pirate Software during pro match broadcast

During a professional DOTA 2 match, syndereN, one of the game’s casters, made some comments aimed at Pirate Software amidst some streaming-related drama. However, it wasn’t during his personal time; instead, he made those remarks while filling in some time during the actual pro match.

Synd has been a DOTA 2 caster for over a decade, having bounced between pro play and a spot on the desk to stay in the scene. He’s been around for a long, long time.

It’s not unexpected that he feels at ease on-air and isn’t shy about making strong statements. However, what stands out is that he openly criticized Pirate Software during a live broadcast.

While filling some downtime during a match between Team Spirit and Tundra Esports at PGL Wallachia, syndereN went out of his way to reference Pirate Software allegedly cheating his way through single-player games.

Pirate Software gets called out during DOTA 2 pro match

To provide context on what Thor was getting called out for, the streamer sparked controversy after solving a puzzle in Animal Well within minutes. One that took the game’s collective community a few weeks to solve.

Pirate Software insists that he did not look up the answer; rather, he figured it out all by himself and it was truly his creation.

However, it’s safe to say DOTA 2 caster syndereN doesn’t believe him.

“Have you ever played Animal Well?” Synd asked his co-caster. “There are some insane secrets in that game you’ll never discover on your own. Unless you’re Pirate Software, in which case you’ll just figure it out all on your own. Randomly, you’ll just go AFK, you’ll come back 5 minutes later, and you’ll just figure out a puzzle that took the community 3 weeks to do,” he claimed.

Yet, he didn’t stop at that point. The following day, during a game between Tundra and Team Liquid, Synd promptly revisited the topic.

“I’m on the list,” he joked after throwing another jab at Pirate Software.

The streamer has yet to respond to syndereN’s public callout.
