Prior to its release on March 20th, Ubisoft has recently confirmed that “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” is compatible with the Steam Deck. Additionally, the game’s first soundtrack album can now be streamed across several platforms.
I was quite taken aback last month when Ubisoft shared a technical Q&A about Assassin’s Creed Shadows, stating that it wouldn’t support Steam Deck at launch due to it falling short of the PC game’s minimum system requirements. However, today, I can hardly contain my excitement as Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now officially Steam Deck Verified! A new trailer and blog post for the PC version have been released, and I can’t wait to explore this development when it becomes available. Check out the latest Assassin’s Creed Shadows Steam trailer below:

Two more albums will follow once the game is released. You can listen to the complete first soundtrack album here. Hey there, gaming enthusiasts! Exciting news today – I’m thrilled to share that as a gamer immersed in the world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, I can now confirm that The Flight has dropped the first album of our game’s Original Soundtrack straight into our hands! You can stream it across music platforms worldwide. Keep an eye out too for two more albums by Teke::Teke and Thunderdrum feat. Tiggs Da Author, which will be released post-launch on March 20th. Get ready to groove while you game!
The musical pair The Flight, consisting of Joe Henson and Alexis Smith, who previously collaborated on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, are coming back to create the original soundtrack for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. By skillfully combining traditional Japanese instruments with contemporary music styles across the album, they have collaborated closely with Ubisoft teams to build a sweeping musical environment that mirrors the game’s setting and character narratives. For example, “Steel and Shadows,” an action-oriented rendition of Naoe’s theme that incorporates Tsuchibue, Koto, Taiko, and the voice of Akari MOCHIZUKI, sets a powerful stage for her noble ambitions and internal struggle as she chooses her future course.
In their own words, Alexis Smith and Joe Henson express their excitement about bringing the long-anticipated Feudal Japan setting for Assassin’s Creed to life in “Shadows.” They were thrilled to join forces with Ubisoft Quebec within the Animus once more. The music score they crafted follows the adventures of Naoe and Yasuke, skillfully integrating the series’ sci-fi elements with traditional Japanese melodies, using instruments like Koto, Shamisen, Taikos, and Shakuhachi to create a fresh and innovative sound. This project was an immense challenge, but they poured all their passion into every stage—from initial thematic concepts to final orchestral recordings—and they hope fans will appreciate the music as much as they cherished creating it.
