‘Ted Lasso’ Renewed for Season 4, Jason Sudeikis Returning

Well, we can believe again.

As a passionate movie reviewer, I’m thrilled to share that Apple TV+ has greenlit Season 4 of the heartwarming comedy “Ted Lasso”. Yours truly, Ted Lasso himself, Jason Sudeikis, will be back with his witty puns and iconic mustache. While we don’t have official word yet on who else will join the cast, rumors swirl that Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift may reprise their roles. Keep your fingers crossed!

In this world where we’ve been taught to always ‘check before diving,’ as I’ve come to realize, the team at AFC Richmond is learning a different approach in season four – they’re taking the leap first and finding out that wherever they end up, it’s their destined landing spot.

Jack Burditt, known for his work on “Nobody Wants This,” “Modern Family,” and “30 Rock,” has joined Season 4 as the executive producer, under his recent multi-project agreement with Apple TV+. Sudeikis will not only star in the series but also serve as an executive producer. Furthermore, Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard, along with Toheeb Jimoh, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel, are all involved as executive producers. Goldstein is set to write and produce, while Leanne Bowen will also contribute in these roles.

Bill Lawrence serves as executive producer for his production company, Doozer Productions, in collaboration with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. For the upcoming season, Sara Walker and Phoebe Walsh are both writers and producers, while Sasha Garron assists as co-producer. Julia Lindon is credited as a writer, and Dylan Marron takes on the role of story editor. The production of this series is a joint effort between Warner Bros. Television, where Doozer has an overall deal, and Universal Television.

The series ‘Ted Lasso’ was created by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly, drawing inspiration from an existing format and characters originating from NBC Sports.

Without a doubt, ‘Ted Lasso’ is a show that the world needs at this moment, according to Channing Dungey, head of Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD US Networks. We, along with millions of fans worldwide, have been eagerly waiting for another season, and it’s fantastic news that one is on its way! We’re grateful to our partners at Apple and excited to see Jason Sudeikis and the entire ‘Ted Lasso’ team return to action, ready to serve up another helping of this exceptional series.

At last, the lingering query about whether our cherished series would grace our screens once more for a fourth installment has found its resolution. The third season of “Ted Lasso” largely brought closure to the show’s narrative threads, as AFC Richmond climbed the ladder in the Premier League and Ted made his way back home to Kansas to reunite with his son.

Despite continuous enthusiasm from fans for more “Ted Lasso”, both the cast and creators have provided diverse responses regarding the potential continuation of the series.

The series “Ted Lasso” first appeared on screens in 2020, and its third season premiered in 2023. It rapidly gained popularity soon after its launch, possibly because the central character’s mission to share joy and compassion resonated strongly during the global struggle against COVID-19 in 2020.

Throughout its broadcast, “Ted Lasso” garnered a total of 61 Emmy Award nominations, ultimately taking home 13. This impressive haul included two consecutive victories in the category for Best Comedy Series, along with back-to-back wins for Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein in their respective categories.
