In what year was the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything published? This That’s Not My Neighbor answer is easier than you think

For enthusiasts of the game Papers, Please, I recommend giving That’s not My Neighbor a try as well. These games share a common theme: you screen individuals (or entities) seeking entry into a secure area. Among the intriguing characters you encounter, there’s Chester – a character who asks some challenging questions. One such question we have previously discussed (in my opinion, the most difficult), let us now explore another one: “In what year was the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything published?

In what year was the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything published?

Initially, this question might appear absurd, but it’s not if you’ve read one specific book – ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ by Douglas Adams. It’s a comical science fiction tale that follows Arthur Dent, a human who was miraculously spared just before Earth was destroyed. However, this is merely the start of his extraordinary journey.

Chester’s question in That’s Not My Neighbor is reminiscent of a query from the book about the ultimate answer to life, the universe, and everything. As per the supercomputer in the novel, the response was 42 (but I’m getting sidetracked). To put it simply, Chester is asking for the publication date of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

  1. 1979

Answering all Chester’s questions accurately will earn you the title of “Top Student”. Best of luck!
