A novel team has issued a challenge for a charity game against The Sidemen in the future, and this may not be the opponent fans anticipate.
Starting from 2016, The Sidemen have been organizing their nearly yearly charity football games. These events have amassed millions for charitable causes. Though various content creators have been invited to join, the two teams – Sidemen FC and YouTube All-Stars – have remained constant. This is much like how the Harlem Globetrotters consistently play against the Washington Generals.
The matches have taken place in venues filled to capacity, such as the latest one that occurred at Wembley Stadium, where over 90,000 spectators were present.
Due to its recent sell-out at Wembley Stadium, there’s been growing interest in the game, with several football players expressing their views on the matter.
Gary Neville & The Overlap want to play The Sidemen
The following point caught the notice of ex-Manchester United player, Gary Neville, leading him to propose participating himself in the coming year, but not as part of the YouTube All-Stars or Sidemen teams.
He recently suggested that we assemble our Overlap team and compete against them at Wembley Stadium the following year, during his latest episode of ‘It’s Called Soccer’ podcast.
Do you believe they’ll outperform us? Honestly, I’m not sure. But let me ask, are they talented, these players of theirs? I’d appreciate it if some of your teammates could weigh in on their abilities.
Neville listed a few notable figures who might join his team, such as Jamie Carragher, Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney, and Ian Wright.

If they proceed with the game, it seems likely that The Sidemen would need to invite some skilled footballers who are usually part of the YouTube All-Stars team, as this would help balance the competition a bit.
Additionally, it’d be intriguing to witness a face-off between IShowSpeed and Jamie Carragher on the field, given their ongoing dispute about IShowSpeed’s soccer abilities.
