Ubisoft has recently revealed Rainbow Six Siege X and introduced a fresh, permanent gameplay mode called Dual Front for this shooter. In essence, Dual Front is a 6-versus-6 multiplayer setting with respawns, while maintaining the strategic aspects that Rainbow Six Siege is renowned for.
In Dual Front, the action unfolds on a colossal, divided map with two lanes leading from one team’s base to another. Each lane is segmented into two areas that teams must sequentially capture by deploying sabotage devices – much like planting bombs in the primary game mode. The key distinctions here are that each side fields six players and that teams must balance both assaulting the newly captured enemy area while safeguarding their own. Teams can strategize their deployment as they see fit, and following death, there’s a 30-second wait before rejoining the fray. Additionally, there’s a neutral zone in the center where additional objectives, such as escorting a hostage to a helicopter, may appear, rewarding the team that successfully accomplishes it.
A key distinction lies in the selection of operators. Initially, only 35 operators are available, with this number fluctuating regularly. Interestingly, these operators are a mix of attackers and defenders, allowing you to choose either for your playstyle. This flexibility enables you to select a defensive operator for an offensive strategy or vice versa, introducing unique tactical approaches to secure victory. Typically, matches last approximately 20-25 minutes, though they are automatically concluded after 30 minutes due to a timer. Upon release, Siege X will include one map with symmetrical paths, but Ubisoft intends to modify and update the map every season.
Among the numerous innovations, Dual Front is simply one of them that will debut in Rainbow Six Siege X upon its launch on June 10, marking the start of Year 10 Season 2 for the multiplayer shooter.
