In episode 6 of Season 3, the towering protagonist mimics Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger while taking down enemies hidden within a forest.
In the third season of “Reacher,” the character Jack assumes an undercover role, not only to locate a missing individual but also to pursue a ghostly figure from his history known as Julius McCabe.
The mission he’s involved in requires him to collaborate with the DEA, and on several occasions, his disguise has come dangerously close to being exposed – as evident as early as Episode 6, when an extraordinary turn of events manages to save him from being discovered.
In the same vein, he’s been taking out numerous bad guys, and this trend persists in the episode titled ‘Smoke on the Water’, which has a strong resemblance to the action films of the 1980s. Be aware, as you proceed, there are potential spoilers.
How Reacher gives Arnie and Sly a run for their money

In the events unfolding around Episode 6’s midpoint, McCabe orders his henchmen to pursue Reacher with the intent of killing him, shouting “I demand he be eliminated.” However, Jack manages to flee in a vehicle and miraculously evades numerous bullets. Subsequently, he takes refuge in the forest on foot. Yet, the antagonists continue their pursuit using all-terrain vehicles (quad bikes).
Instead of consistently hitting their targets with machine guns, Reacher opts for a strategic approach by shooting out the headlights on their motorcycles, rendering them blind to his location.
Or more concisely:
Reacher smartly disables their bike lights rather than continuously missing with machine gun fire.
In the spirit of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic camouflage tactic from “Predator,” I emerge from the shadows, ghost-like, snapping a neck as silently as a whispering wind. A stolen blade finds its mark in another’s throat with a swift and deadly stroke.

Reacher systematically eliminates the henchmen, reminiscent of Sylvester Stallone’s character in the first Rambo film, First Blood.
Reacher deals with each henchman in turn, much like how Sylvester Stallone handled things in the original Rambo movie, First Blood.
Both versions convey the same idea but use slightly different wording to keep it fresh and engaging.
This scene strongly mirrors John Rambo’s character – much like Rambo, who is a former Vietnam soldier, Reacher too has experienced combat, enabling him to skillfully utilize the wilderness as a tool, vanishing and resurfacing unexpectedly to catch his adversaries off guard.
In a different way of saying it: Rambo was targeting police officers, who believed they were acting justly in tracking him, whereas Reacher is eliminating ruthless assassins using his intelligence and fighting abilities.

In a different scenario, he wraps a bicycle rope around someone’s neck, subsequently pulling him in, leading to the man’s death by asphyxiation. Despite being caked in mud, Reacher eventually reaches town, resembling the setting from First Blood. Afterward, he cleans himself at a laundromat, wrapping up this action-packed sequence with another opportunity for Jack to appear without a shirt.
