Early in the current week, there were rumors among Crusader Kings III enthusiasts that the next strategic installment could take place in China. Today, however, the developers have made it official. In fact, Paradox Studio has unveiled an official trailer for the expansion and shared a lengthy discussion about it as well.
Mongolian steppes in Crusader Kings 3
In Chapter 4, we will focus on China, Japan, and Korea, but our main point of interest is Mongolia. This chapter will also delve into the story of Genghis Khan, who hasn’t been introduced in the series so far. The “Khans of the Steppe” expansion for Crusader Kings III is scheduled to launch on April 28, 2025.
- We will guide the nomadic people on the Asian steppes. This means that our community will travel when living conditions worsen. For instance – if the temperature drops, cultivation will become more difficult. As a result, our people will seek warmer regions.
- The key system is supposed to be the Nomadic Government. Thanks to it, we will be able to manage the migration of people and herds of animals, while also taking care of their endurance.
- Our strength and dominance will also become important. We will increase it by gaining more and more areas of land on the continent. If domination reaches the highest level, players will receive a cloak of Genghis Khan himself called “Universal Ruler.”
- Besides, the expansion will bring us closer to the traditions and culture of Mongolia.
What else in Chapter 4?
Enthusiasts of Crusader Kings III can look forward to a fresh experience: coronations, following the launch of Khans of the Steppe. In this expansion, we’ll orchestrate an elaborate ceremony to convince our vassals, clergy, and subjects that divine providence has bestowed upon us the right to rule. This additional feature will be included in a small, paid DLC package.
In this chapter, we’re planning to introduce a substantial expansion titled “All Under Heaven” concurrently with “Khans of the Steppe“. This upcoming DLC is anticipated to be our biggest and most daring yet, encompassing the entire continent of Asia. It will offer unique gameplay mechanics or governments for countries such as China, Japan, Korea, and Indonesia.
In the game “All Under Heaven,” a fresh title, ‘hegemon,’ will emerge. Our dynasty will engage in persistent power struggles with other families to assert our worthiness. Additionally, the developers grant us control over the empire’s finances, enabling us to choose where and how to invest within various regions. The exact launch date for this expansion is yet to be disclosed.
Update 1.15 details
