Due to insufficient continued support for Dark and Darker on the Epic Games Store, developers were compelled to move accounts from that platform over to Blacksmith. On the official Discord channel, Ironmace provided guidance on this process, however, it turned out to be incorrect. Fortunately, helpful fans on Reddit in the comment section of the latest patch notes managed to find the correct solution. If you’re one of the players who experienced DaD on EGS and are unsure about how to initiate the migration, here is a step-by-step guide:

1. Log into your account on Blacksmith.
2. Navigate to the Account Management section.
3. Look for the option to link your Epic Games Store account.
4. Follow the prompts to authorize the link between your accounts.
5. Once linked, your DaD progress should automatically transfer over to Blacksmith.
6. If you encounter any issues during this process, seek assistance from the game’s community on Reddit or Discord for further guidance.

  1. Initially, create an account on the Blacksmith platform and install the launcher. Download Dark and Darker from there.
  2. Now you will have to manually copy the game files from Blacksmith DaD version to EGS Dark and Darker installation folder. Replace all files except .egstore. Fans on Reddit, who have figured out how to do it correctly, shared an image explaining how to do this with the Steam copy, but the process is the same in this case, too.
  3. Launch Dark and Darker on the Epic Games Store. You should see patch notes for the latest hotfix. If this is not happening, perform a reinstall of the game.
  4. When the game loads correctly, you will be given the opportunity to use the “Get Migration Code” option. Copy the code you receive, it should be valid for the next 10 minutes. Turn off the game on EGS.
  5. Launch Dark and Darker on Blacksmith, there you will be offered the option “Transfer My Account”, click on it.
  6. Paste the previously obtained code into the field that appears to you and click “Link Account”.
  7. Now just click the “Done” button and restart the game.
