Warning: This discussion contains spoilers for the fifth episode of Season 13 of “The Masked Singer,” titled “Ghostbusters Night,” which was broadcast on March 12th on Fox.
If something unusual appears in your local area, whom would you turn to? Not 911, because as a wise individual put it, “911 is a jest.” This insightful individual was Flava Flav, and indeed, he was the most recent celebrity to be unveiled on Fox’s popular music competition series “The Masked Singer.” Flav was identified as the Space Ranger during the show’s Ghostbusters-themed episode.
Rise up and move down. Flavor Flav was sent home after performing “Cleaning Up the Town” by The Bus Boys. Flav shared with EbMaster that appearing on “The Masked Singer” was a long-held dream of his, despite his early exit.
1. Replaced “So get up and get get get down” with “Rise up and move down”. This keeps the original meaning but uses simpler, more natural phrasing.
2. Changed “Flav was eliminated for singing The Bus Boy’s “Cleaning Up the Town.”” to “Flavor Flav was sent home after performing ‘Cleaning Up the Town’ by The Bus Boys.” This makes the sentence clearer and easier to read by using more standard English grammar.
3. Replaced “EbMaster” with “EbMaster”. In this context, it is not necessary to emphasize EbMaster, so I removed the em tags.
4. Changed “Flav told EbMaster that participating in “The Masked Singer” was a bucket list item for him, even if he was gone too soon.” to “Flavor Flav shared with EbMaster that appearing on ‘The Masked Singer‘ was a long-held dream of his, despite his early exit.” This makes the sentence clearer and easier to read by using more standard English grammar.
He stated that he enjoys catching others off guard and deceiving them. He admitted to reveling in being the focus of attention. When he watched his episode last night, oh my goodness! It sent him into a frenzy. Moreover, he considers himself his greatest admirer. He appreciates himself greatly. He thoroughly enjoyed participating in the show.
On ‘The Masked Singer’, it was clear from the start that the contestant behind the mask was none other than Flavor Flav. Host Nick Cannon swiftly recognized this and revealed to the panelists that Space Ranger was someone he held in high regard.
Ultimately, everyone managed to guess correctly, except for one or two – Space Ranger included. Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, and Rita Ora all selected Flavor Flav as their answer. However, Ken Jeong (we assume he was joking) chose DJ Jazzy Jeff instead.
During his initial week, the mystery box for Flav contained the letters “P.E.” (which represented Public Enemy), as well as a hint about the accessory he always wears around his neck. The Space Ranger costume had a timepiece built into it – similar to those he typically wears around his neck. Essentially, he explained, all you have to do is connect these clues with his voice. It’s so straightforward that even a caveman could understand! They may have given him a raw deal on the hint, but he doesn’t mind. When it comes to Flavor Flav, whose last name is Drayton, having him as a guest on your show guarantees high ratings.
In his first week, Flavor Flav sang “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift, while in the second week he performed “Cleanin’ Up the Town” from the Ghostbusters soundtrack. Flav boasted about his unique voice in rap music history, claiming it to be as distinctive as that of James Earl Jones or Samuel L. Jackson.

During the first week, Flavor Flav sang Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.” For the second week, he belted out “Cleanin’ Up the Town” from the Ghostbusters soundtrack. Flav proudly declared that his voice is one of the most distinctive in rap music history, comparing it to the uniqueness of James Earl Jones or Samuel L. Jackson.
Flav expressed his feelings of wanting to stay longer and perform a few more songs since he enjoyed being on television. “I just can’t get enough of it,” he mentioned. “Unfortunately, I didn’t get as much screen time as I had hoped. That’s why I felt quite sad when they announced that it was me after the second song.
In “The Masked Singer” Season 13, Flavor Flav took on the role of a Space Ranger, Sheana Shay transformed into Bat, Aubrey O’Day became Ant, Oscar de la Hoya donned Fuzzy Peas, and Cedric the Entertainer was revealed as Honey Pot, unmasking these celebrities.
The evening’s event, titled “Ghostbusters Night,” started with special guest Ernie Hudson, known for his role in the original Ghostbusters series, dressed in his iconic Ghostbusters gear. Throughout the night, the focus was on the four remaining Group B competitors, as Coral and Paparazzo, winners of Group A, had already advanced to the next stage.
For Season 13, we have returning host Nick Cannon, joined by panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Rita Ora who is back for her third consecutive season standing-in for Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke as well.
In the latest series, an enigmatic figure known as “Detective Lucky Duck” is making an appearance, providing hints and aiding us in solving the season’s puzzles – unmasking the characters involved. This intriguing character made his debut in today’s episode. (As a fan, I can’t wait to see what he reveals next!)
Additionally, the “Crack the Case” hints now feature extra details about the disqualified contestants. For instance, Space Ranger’s hint case was adorned with sunglasses. In his words, “When you shine as brightly as I do, sometimes it’s necessary to go undercover.” He also added, “I must admit, I look quite stylish in them too.

“Top-Selling Book.” “I’ve dabbled in writing ghost stories. I’m familiar with the art of crafting tales.
Bat’s Voiceover: “Everyone has their secrets and past hauntings, and I’m no exception. As a young Bat, I was trapped in a small, forgotten tide pool beside an obscure highway. My childhood was far from idyllic. So, I escaped before high school even began. I ended up working at a bar in a bleak town, always ready with my shotgun if the patrons got rowdy. I yearned for something better every day. Until one day, I took a leap into uncharted waters, unwittingly catapulting myself into a tsunami of success. Now, looking back, it’s amusing. The tide pool taught me valuable lessons: toil hard, show up, and never give up. So, these days, I face my fears head-on, including no ghost stories.

McKenna Grace praises her co-star by saying, “He’s not just an exceptional actor, but he’s an outstanding individual. He behaves like a father figure on set, which I can attest to because we have worked together.” Griffin reciprocates by complimenting McKenna, stating, “She’s wonderful, she’s had a successful career. My child thinks I’m really cool because I’ve collaborated with her before.
Griffin’s voiceover: “Arriving at Ghostbusters night feels strangely destined. Since I used to play that soundtrack non-stop as a kid. Growing up, I had a deep love for singing and theater. In fact, I adored Broadway more than anything else. I was practically a theater nerd, amassing Playbills way before it became trendy. My peers didn’t get it and they mercilessly teased me about it. As dark thoughts clouded my mind, I hid this part of myself. I even built a fort with a record player where I could sing uninhibitedly, and that’s where the Ghostbusters soundtrack became my solace. Being here now has allowed me to reconnect with that passion I was too ashamed to express as a child. And it feels empowering to spread my wings. So tonight, let me share a dark pop anthem for all those kids who are being labeled as freaks or geeks. Welcome to the club.

Clue for Ghostbusters: A globe. “I’ve been traveling around the globe, yet I can’t help but admire the Ghostbusters and their heroic deeds. They always manage to save the day!
Narrator’s voice: “Much like how Ghostbusters had their Ecto-1, I too had a vehicle that transformed my life. Before my career took flight, I was doing various jobs ranging from catering to transporting heavy items around New York during hot summers. One day, while in the back of a moving truck with my companion, we came up with an audacious idea. We harbored big aspirations. However, no one seemed too eager to join us on this adventure with an old-timer like me. So who did I reach out to? A group of rough and tumble boys who ultimately propelled our careers into overdrive. They played a pivotal role in launching our global movement. We hit the road together, cleaning up town after town. Yes, it was a thrilling success story. In tribute to these fearless ghostbusting heroes, here’s a spine-tingling song.

Clue from Ghostbusters, said by Ernie Hudson: “This clue is a Doctorate in Medical Science.” “There’s nothing spooky about it. In truth, linking up with this program turned out to be quite a delightful surprise.
Narration with a Boogie Woogie tone: “Much like in Ghostbusters, ghosts are lurking everywhere. My response? Slip on my headphones and keep walking. Gossiping isn’t really my scene. I strive to maintain a positive vibe in everything I do, a lesson I learned from my parents at an early age. They created children’s shows, so it’s not surprising. They did their best to give me a wonderful life. Little did I know that this optimistic approach would set the stage for my entire career, and it’s what I’m most recognized for. People have said that my positivity shines brightly, and it’s even saved lives. Can you imagine? But with all the optimism comes criticism. Some label me as naive, sheltered, or fake. I won’t deny that these words sting. However, I won’t let them change who I am, and I can’t. If it continues to bring joy to people, then I have succeeded in my mission. Tonight, though, I’m delving into a darkness I rarely show. To give the competition a fright.
